SUNSETS EXTRAORDINAIRE!

Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me 

Let me be singing when the evening comes

May I continue to worship His holy name.

Thank you Lord for neighbors who share sunsets on our ridge in the mountains, a son who shares a sunset in Honolulu, Hawaii and our daughter who shares sunsets at a beach in Florida..

All are examples of God's amazing creation.

May we all continue to experience the awe of sunsets with praise in our hearts.

I will bless the LORD at all times:His praise will continually be in my mouth. (Psalm 34:1)

*Grandson Jack alerted her, "Look Mommy the sky is turning pink & orange!"

When she got to the steps to take a pic, a youngster was standing there exclaiming, "Look what Jesus Made!" Her affirming reply, "Indeed He did!!" had the little fella smiling from ear to ear!

Taste and See the Lord is good!

How does one heightened their taste buds for the gospel message?

Opening her/his Bible might be first step! One word. One verse. One chapter. Whet your appetite for truth. 

For example, entering a candy shop for the first time, one might be overwhelmed at all the choices and appreciate the opportunity to have a taste before deciding what to choose.

For me, I started today in Psalm 34:1. I was "all in" with the very first verse.

It's important to bless the LORD at all times. The whole number of nouns.  Circumstances. (New job or laid off)  Events. (Births to funerals) Healthy or sick. Weary or energized. 

At least each truth has merit for understanding the Christian life.

(v. 4) The LORD delivers from all my fear.

A meager beginning---think small taste---but I already see that God is good! (v.8) 

A delicious taste of truth! Gospelicious!

PERPETUAL PRAYERS!

Perpetual prayers so easily come forth for peace as we face life or pray  for others who relish such prayers as well. 

Recently, alone on a damp precipitous perch while hubby and grandson, Owen. hiked near-by, I left behind all the petitions.

Praises came forth! For me, circumstances too often lead to pleas/petitions. I needed to be still and allow the Lord to touch my soul that praises might come forth from my inmost being. (Psalm 103:1)

Reflecting this morning on that time on the "cliff", a knock on the door got me out of my prayer chair. Neighbor, John, had found a letter in the grass----damp from several days of due. But God used it to bless me greatly. It was answer to one of my perpetual petitions and it prompted praise. I had been anxious for an update from her and here it was!

2/9/10 Why should we exalt (magnify, lift up and honor) the Lord and extol (exalt & glorify) His name at all times? The answer is found in scripture.

• He shows us the exceeding riches of grace through His kindness (Ephesians 2:7) (KJV)
• He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think… (Ephesians 3:20) (KJV)
• So we don’t exalt ourselves (Psalm 140:8) (KJV)
• His name is excellent in all the earth. O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth. (Psalm 8:1) (KJV)

My grandmother’s concordance defines excellent as worthy and valuable. Even Webster defines excellent as of the highest quality, exceptional----“high and lifted up” came to my mind.

• He left us an eXample to follow. (1 Peter 2:21) (KJV)

• Will you eXtol the Lord at all times and allow His praise always to be on your lips? (Psalm 34:1) (KJV)

As you eXamine Exodus 15:2 today, you will realize there is no eXcuse for not eXalting Him.

The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. He is my God and I will praise Him, my Father’s God and I will exalt Him.

He alone is worthy of our exaltation!
