SERVE THE LORD WITH GLADNESS!

How does one serve the LORD with gladness?
This morning hubby and I listened to Cole Huffman's Gospel church July 5, 2026 podcast which espoused the value of serving the LORD......from Psalm 100. Just click to listen. You will be glad you did!

A few of my many notes....
  • Gladness---a watch word for serving the LORD.
  • Gratitude leads to gladness.
  • Serving the LORD aligns with His will and purpose.
  • Thanksgiving and praise are a dynamic duo.
  • Thankfulness is a Password to God's WiFi.
  • Singing puts one into deeper joy.
  • Happiness (a positive, but variable, on-slaught of emotions) comes and goes but joy remains.
  • For the LORD is good. (v.5) with an enduring love and faithfulness to all generations.
Join me today in making a joyful noise unto the LORD.

SCRIPTURE & HYMN OF GRATEFUL PRAISE!

SCRIPTURE & HYMN OF GRATEFUL PRAISE!
Humming and praising as I go today!

But God....reminded me to start first with Him!
Psalm 100 it was---already bookmarked with a card from Joyce Ann!

My ESV Bible labels it A PSALM FOR GIVING THANKS!
  • Serve the Lord with gladness. Come into His presence with singing! (v. 2)
  • Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! (v.4a)
  • Give thanks to him; bless his name! (v.4b)

STOP! SMELL THE ROSES!

Smell the roses---
???What if there aren't any roses?
Choose any flower.

What if there are't any flowers?

Skip rocks in a creek!
What if the creek is too shallow??
Take your shoes off and stick your toes in the cold water!
Why?
Because it is good to give thanks to the Lord. (Psalm 9:1)
He will enable you to "sing for joy." (Psalm 92:4, emphasis mine)

Quit making excuses! Be grateful. Pappy Young thought gratitude was
like duct tape ......there was no problem it couldn't fix.

Choose joy!
When you've grown weary, remember the One who is your joy.
STOP! Lean into Him! Allow Him to gratify and satisfy.

Who knows, you might even get a whiff of roses from afar!

Bestower of Blessings

11/23 What a week this should be for focusing on blessings---both the ones received and the One who bestows them. I can think of no better meditation for this period of Thanksgiving than the 100th Psalm.
Psalm 100 (KJV)
1Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2Serve the LORD with gladness: come before His presence with singing.
3Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
4Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.
5For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.
As my family gathers here this week to cook and care for me in a special way, I want to have time with them. (So I won’t be on-line for awhile.) Together I hope we will focus on our year (& my MAC year) that has been one BIG blessing. Thanks be to God.
