2nd CHANCE SUNRISE!

Somedays we all need a "do-over"!!
How grateful I am that Father God gave us His son Jesus so we could do just that.
Repent in Jesus name. Ask forgiveness and you're ready for a do-over!

Think sunrise in spirit because of rising up of God's Son.
God's Son Rises!

Pithy with purpose!

WISE WORDS!

WEEKEND WISDOM!
Wise Words.
5 words or FEWER. Here they are....count them.

Look for the BIG meaning! (Citations don't count)
  • Be strong and courageous. (Joshua 1:9)
  • Seek the Lord's strength; (1 Chronicles 16:11)
  • Joy of Lord is strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)
  • God is my heart's strength. (Psalm 73:26)
  • Quietness and trust is strength. (Isaiah 30:15)
What's the focus for each set of "5 or FEWER"?
Strength of course!

PITHY WITH AN RCK PUNCH!

Son-ln-law, RCK. has a way of saying the most with the fewest words!
First he practices keeping his ears open and his mouth shut. That's scriptural. In His quiet times before the Lord, I imagine he is still to listen first. He ruminates.
Think----Meditate. Concentrate."Chew the cud."
He also practices that with people.
The result is saying the most with the fewest words.
Concise. Succinct. Terse---but without the sting.
Pithy with a punch as I so often say!
Even in his work conferences he knows how to be brief because he has prepped and prayed. He uses kind, bright words to explain and encourage.

He doesn't just babble and blather on and on.
He physically leaves but his words stick.
Pithy with a punch of truth are left for others to consider.

MONDAY MUSINGS!

As I prepare for today's trip to new cardiologist, I need to cultivate new "heart habits"..........more spiritual than physical. Gratitude for a spouse who has become my "uber" to numerous medical centers in far away places. Acceptance of no longer driving.
A heart habit of praise and worship! Lead me Lord in this new season of heartache......pain, fear and disappointments.
May I lean into the Most High and abide in His shadow.(Psalm 91:1)

Help me, Almighty God, to abound in this new season regardless of the circumstances!
A new year to abide and abound!

PROXIMI-TEA!

My morning cuppa! Proximi-TEA!
First, I had to throw my cuppa anxiety-TEA down the drain.
Then, I picked up God's Word to move-in closer.......and
On the small table beside my prayer chair, was a calling card from one of our church elders of Care Ministries. He has been in a whirlwind of health problems for many weeks now. Yet here was his card encouraging me---with this verse clearly at my side.
For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. (Zephaniah 3:17)

Closer proximity to Him is essential, especially in the "whirlwind" of physical
unknowns/fears of self and others.

A cuppa with the Lord in His word and a cuppa proximi-TEA shared with a friend can wash away the fears and dreads of the unknown.

PANDEMIC PASTIME

PANDEMIC 2020-2021 .....In a  Few Words!
Few Words---14 to be exact. Not many to encapsulate my life from March 2020-April 2021 but they do.
This is how I remember my "pandemic days" though much of my reading was audio. Then I progressed to book in hand and audio of same book coming through my Libby app. It's the way I chose to keep reading when my eyesight was recovering from my occipital lobe stroke.

Wearisome Words

7/15/10 Too verbose on blog. Succinct is the answer. Will try for terse verse, not burdensome blogs. Won’t resort to texting shortcuts---don’t know them anyway. S. Young has the pithy grabber prose (saying the most with the fewest words) down pat in today’s Jesus Calling. Here’s my take on her notes:
  • Command=do not worry.
  • God gives manageable portions.
  • His grace sufficient one day at a time.
  • A heap of worry staggers you.
  • Thrust of trust is answer to meandering, crisscrossing, anxious thoughts.
  • Let those shackels fall. Enjoy Him.
::poof:: (Text 4 I'm gone.)

Wedding Dance

Date Unknown-until 1 hour ago The Wedding Dance

Remember the Western Union telegrams of old---those yellow paper messages with short snippets that were delivered (stop)---sometimes by a kid on a bike(stop)? I think they were a precursor for text messages. They were “pithy grabbers” of sorts. I even have a file of pithy grabbers b/c I love them---saying lots w/ few words---like poetry, concise but full of meaning. TP, a caringbridge blogger & CD, an author, gave me the idea---the one my Molly enters in the blog will be based on the outcome of my surgeries.

If I return to Memphis---and I am coming home today.

Coming home STOP
Put out my dancing shoes STOP
The Lord and I are dancing to a new song STOP
We’ll never stop!!

Coming home to dance at Halle & Kyle’s wedding---MAC was not the last dance for me.
