PATH I SHOULD GO!

God's paths!
Paths of peace.
Paths of righteousness!
Every time I turn on my computer I have a set reminder.

WISDOM PSALMS!

Psalms of Wisdom or Wisdom Psalms---during my season of medical maladies, this book of the Bible is where I have camped out! The rockier the path of "life" became, the more I turned to wisdom found there! The perfect law of the LORD refreshes the soul and makes wise the simple.
(Psalm 19:7, DAL, PPP)
Psalmists often looked to God for insight.(Psalms 1,73, 91,119)
For me, Psalm 1, 3, 16, 25, 27, 34, 37, 90 & 121, are at the top of my "wisdom" list as I have reflected on God's word.
Think..... Considered. Focused. Meditated.
Psalms Personally Paraphrased. (PPP)
  • Blessed...delight in the law of the Lord & meditate day and night. (1)
  • You Lord are my shield, glory & lifter of my head. (3)
  • You make known to me the path of life. (16)
  • I lift my soul to God in whom I trust (25) I take refuge in you, for I wait for you.(25)
  • Be strong, let heart take courage; wait for the LORD! (27)
  • His praise will continue from my mouth (Psalm 34) Blessed take refuge in Him. (34)
  • Delight yourself in the LORD, (37) Commit your way to the LORD;trust in Him and He will act. (37) Be still before the LORD ...wait patiently for Him. (37)
  • Teach us to number our days to get a heart of wisdom (90)
  • My help comes from the LORD who is my keeper.(121)
True wisdom is followed by alignment with one's actions based on truths found on each path/circumstance with Him, rocky or not
A path of life walked in humility. AMEN!

BEAUTY FOUND IN TANGLED WEBS!

Photographer friend, Anne B., has a way of finding and highlighting beauty in the messes of life!
I, on the other hand, lately have a way of making messes in life or walking in fear that my decisions might mess things up for everyone. Decision making is so difficult as "what ifs" flutter all around in my mind.
My Uncle John Edward learned during WWII to "pull self up" by his boot straps. I don't even have any bootstraps. Plus, it sounds self-reliant to me!

If I have been constantly reminded of anything since our move to NC.....it's the need to lean into the Lord every day. It's His strength I need. His path I want. Leaning in to Him gives both strength and a straight path.

Today, even in the tangles, may I find fulness of joy in His presence as I follow the path of life He has made known to me. (Psalm 16:11)

Seeing the way.....

4/14/12 Have you ever had something right in front of you and yet you still don’t see it? Until a recent PBS interview with Memphian Fred Smith, CEO of FedEx, I never knew there was an arrow on “his” trucks. So iconic and yet I missed it!

In my spiritual life I wonder if my vision is also veiled to God’s directions that are right before me. Psalm 16:11 says that the Lord has made known to me the path of life and that’s truly the only one I need to follow. Jesus Calling (4/12 & 4/14) encouraged staying/walking (dancing for me) with the Lord at every fork in the road.

I know that the entrance to heaven is at the end of my life path. I just don’t want to miss any of the hints of heaven or any directions that the Lord has for me along the way. But…..I’m still afraid I’m missing some of the subtle turns or directions on my daily walk. I guess I’ll just have to keep my eyes wide open and keep trusting His leading as I search for clues.

I can see clearly now----at least on the FedEX truck. In fact, it seems to jump out at me. God is working on the rest.
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk ye in it. (Isaiah 30:21)

PATHLESS IN MEMPHIS

1/17/11 Old Testament folks took to winding paths (Judges 5:6) and paths that lead nowhere….paths of all who forget God. (Job 6:18 & 8:13) I felt that way last week---wandering off path---sometimes just walking in circles, unable to see the right path----NOT the path of life. That path is sure whether I make a few deviations in my daily walk of not. I just didn’t seem to be on the best path---though I had more time available to spend with the Lord.

One day I had a glorious 4 hr. time but the rest of the time with Him seemed to be relegated to “time leftover” status. I was focused on self-stuff---a seemingly endless check list of completing projects, saving money, clearing clutter, family worries, doctor’s appointments, etc.

“Come, let us go
up to the mountain of the LORD, (i.e. to a place for meditation) to the temple of the God of Jacob. (Why? So that He can teach us.) He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” (Isaiah 2:3) (We can’t walk it if we don’t clearly see/know His way.)

I like the verb tense here as Psalm 16:11 is quoted in Acts. It is indeed past tense for me because He has already made His path known to me---I just have to reconnect with Him so that He can refill me as I joyfully sit in His presence---not just marking off the time.

You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’ (Acts 2:28)
