GPS.

Grandmother's Praying System. Used daily for best results helping them navigate life on God's terms. Grace-laced.

The beauty of prayer is that it knows no boundaries. I don't have to know the co-ordinates of their locations---God does. That truth is so comforting for one who has children and grandchildren in three different states. These states, Texas, New York and North Carolina, aren't anywhere near me.

For each family member, spouses included, I have a Proverb I pray for each of them. With the grandkids, it started the day we first heard of their impending birth to the day they were actually born....in God's timing, because most came "earlier" than doc's prediction. Some way early. We had one dawdler. 

As Colossians 1:9 says, "For this reason, (mine, not Paul's) since the day we (I) heard about you, we (I) have not stopped praying for you. We (I) continually ask God to fill you (all nine of you) with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding the Spirit gives. (parenthetical additions, mine)

Always desiring to "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests." (Ephesians 6:18)

That's the operational goal of a Grandmother's Praying System.

Bitty Baby = BIG BLESSING!!

The good news we hoped for was "exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or even imagine!"(Ephesians 3:20)
We came. We saw. We fell in love.....with all 4 pounds of him.

CONSIDER PRAYER

Dad is in Israel. Mom is juggling his four brothers' schedules with him (Nathan) assisting when possible.

A bad fall at practice. A break occurs. Pain ensues. Doctor visit factored into all the schedules. 

Break in collar bone is evident. VERY evident. Surgery is needed soon.

Prayer should be the first consideration. But....anxiety reigns until Philippians 4:6-7 kicks in....in everything let your request be made known unto God.

Consider prayer. Intercessory prayer that is.

When one is 1,267 miles away it's the only consideration that makes sense. (1 Timothy 2:1)

An intercessor is a mediator.  One who pleads another's case. One who cries out to the Lord on their behalf---for healing, peace, protection 

Our example is Jesus Christ who lives to make intercession for us. (Hebrews 7:25) In the same way, my Christian friends/prayer warriors continue steadfastly in prayer for Nathan. (Colossians 4:2)

It's the way intercessory prayer works. Others are there for you regardless of the distance and consider such prayers a privilege!

CHOOSE GOD'S GUIDANCE

Completing grandson Noah's book for his 13th Birthday (1/3/17) had me in Proverbs 3, as that is the Proverb, I have prayed for him since birth. Often, I pray scripture from different versions in order to deepen my understanding of what God is saying as I pray God's best for him.

Proverb 3: 6 (HCSB, Holman Christian Standard Bible) says, "Think about Him in all your ways and He will guide you on the right paths." That's exactly what I want for all my grands but especially for Noah when I am in Proverbs 3.

God has planned all our days and it would behoove us to align our will with His by seeking each day the very detailed, pre-planned guidance for all our day (Psalm 139:16) which He has available for us in His word, and in answer to our "aligned" prayers.

It's so important to choose God's guidance daily as we select our life's paths. 

That's my "Noah Prayer" today! Choose God's Guidance, Noah!

MEMORY MARKS

9/10/13 Sometimes it's the little things that can have a BIG impact on our memory bank. Smells, tunes, a soft breeze---all sensory triggers for my memory, such that it is.  My mind's eye seems to reside in my memory and it too can trigger emotional impressions of previous events. 

Visual recall is what occurred this morning as once again (2 times prior) I went to clean the upstairs bathroom. It quickly progressed to emotional recollection as I saw Andrew's (almost 3) scribbles on the tub tile. I couldn't wash it away. I prayed for him instead. 

Maybe when Lucy (almost 2) visits in October, she will be inspired to add her own markings to those of her cousin Andrew. I hope so.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children (and grandchildren) walk in truth.        (3 John 1:4)

1/22/13 HAPPY 11^TH BIRTHDAY, NATHAN! 

I prayed "your" proverb for you today. You and your Daddy share the same Proverb so I've been praying Proverbs 22 for LOTS of years. I prayed several verbs for you to focus on from 10 + of the verses. 

Choose....a good name. Remember the Lord. Fear the Lord & gain humility. Keep away from paths of the wicked. Share with the poor. Love a pure heart. Speak with grace.Pay attention to wisdom. Apply heart to wise teaching. Have wisdom on lips. Be honest. Speak truth. Serve others......so that your TRUST MAY BE IN THE LORD.
