FAMILY TIES!

Family Ties!
What ties a family together? Special memories. Snafus, Nicknames.
Recently, hubby's nickname had me photographing a license plate of a said nickname. The owner of the car hollered from across the parking lot, "WHAT do you think you are doing?"
My response, "Is this your car?"
His, "It most certainly is!"
So....I tried to explain the family tie. His face softened and he gave me carte blanche permission. He could because He owned the company that bore those initials. PHEW!!!
Our Family Tie story!
Caller ID identifies callers on everyone's cell phones. Scam might appear if caller is not in your contacts.
So...we put all our grands in our contacts list. That way when one calls my hubby, he always knows to answer repeating the letters P P INC. Im sure they are smiling on the other end knowing it's PopPop who is answering the call. Following PPINC, he sometimes adds, "How can I help you." The conversation easily leads into laughter /giggles and ways he can help!
I was thankful for the gentleman's response on Thankful Thursday as I shared with grands.

Finest "Family Ties" might not make sense to others! (Psalm 133:1)

FIRST TIMERS

Sometimes trying anything for the "very first time" can be oh so difficult, especially if you are only 4 years old. Even when you have rehearsed with Mommy, "Hi, my name is Jack. Nice to meet you."
Bright Adventures awaited. Teeth gritted. Tears trickled. A bit of muffled screams of "Don't leave me Mommy," ensued.
The long walk of a little boy with a (required) big backpack began.
Two goodby squeezes from Mommy were allowed. The the teacher relented and allowed two more before directing him back to the "dinosaur" play area.
A little boy's first day of pre-school began.
A grandmother, who was far away, put her GPS (Grandmother's Praying System) into action.
Tears trickled from Tennessee as well......for this little first timer!

CAMPGROUND COUSINS!

Memories from Deep Creek campground week with 4 cousins... my paraphrase from Ecclesiastes...
There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity under the heavens: including telling "Star in the Middle" story

    a time to be born

and a time to die, (& bury the cicada)

a time to plant (with all the needed accoutrements)
and a time to uproot,

 ....... a time to heal,
(Uncle Josh showed PopPop exercises, Jack held the equipment & offered
to take his temperature while Goldie supervised.)

a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn (because 5 of our cousins could not join us),
and a time to dance, (even singing and dancing in the rain with Shug)
    a time to scatter stones
and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace
and a time to refrain from embracing,

    a time to search
and a time to give up,
    a time to keep
and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
    a time to be silent

 and a time to speak,
    a time to love...............
............. and a time for peace.

He has made everything beautiful in its time.

He has set eternity in the human heart;.........I know there is nothing better for people that to be happy.....

...and to do good while they live that each of them may eat (birthday cupcakes)

and drink, and find satisfaction in their toil---this is the gift of God. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-13)
