SHOP LOCAL

I am a big fan of public libraries. I go there often to pick up the many books they "hold" for me. I love "my" librarians at the Poplar White Station Branch. They even recognize me behind my mask! 

I also read a local magazine publications. Think 4MEMPHIS. Not for the society news but for the From the Publisher page that always has Jeremiah 29:7 at the top!

Recently when reading was difficult, due to an "episode" in my occipital lobe, I counted on their Libby app for audio books.

But.....when I am unable to get a much desired book..............I shopped local!

I think that's scriptural. 

Seek the Peace and Prosperity of the City in which I have placed you. (Jeremiah 29:7)

Put Jeremiah 29:7 into action. After praying for our city where the Lord has placed each of us........... SHOP LOCAL!

CHOOSE: LESS THAN ORDINARY

Sometimes Dove "less than ordinary messages" are "spot-on," especially when they're tucked inside the "white and dark chocolate swirls" Yummy swirls, virtually impossible to find, unless one digs around for them in a mixed bag.

But....of the 9 spot-on yet, different chocolate messages I consumed, from sing aloud, solve arguments with a dance-off and quote your dad, the bookstore  one caught my fancy!

Actually go to a bookstore. Hmm-m-m-m.......Go to an actual bookstore. 

No matter how you say it, it's a "novel" idea!

So.... Today, I choose the extraordinary---a brick and mortar bookstore owned by locals!

CHOOSE: "REAL" GOOD NEWS

These days its often hard to discern "fake" news from real news and frankly none of the news seems to be of the "good" variety!

But God....blessed my heart yesterday when I opened Sunday's Commercial Appeal business section to "GOOD" news!

Plan on heading that way soon to patronize our "new" novel.---our locally owned bookstore.

My "Dove" message sealed the deal---at least, it made me smile and enhanced the chocolate treat.

It's fun to choose "real good news" one day followed by choosing some dark chocolate a day later that reinforced my decision to "shop local." Not that I ever need too much nudging to visit a bookstore or library.

I'm back!
What a weekend for exploring "locally"---
Working locally with our "neighbors" on Tillman as part of our "Love Thy Neighbor" focus.

Playing locally ensued with friends who once lived on our street---how local can you get!

Shopping locally took on a new frame of reference. As a teen, "almost local" was every small town that surrounded my hometown. Friday (football) nights were often spent in Russellville, KY with friend, Mary Lou Blue. The next day I would ride back home with Daddy, who worked the stockyard sales there on Saturday mornings. So....when I was shopping local at Easy Way and saw farm fresh milk in old-fashioned glass bottles from said town, I pulled out my $$.
The fact that is had a verse on it (Numbers 6:24) made it all the sweeter.

I wonder if Daddy ever sold cows to "Kentucky Proud" JD Farms in Logan County?
