5 IMPORTANT WORDS!❗️

Important words come from scripture! Truth from above 5 words!
Truth from the first five words in 1 Peter 2:21…….

“ to this you were called,”

A big thanks to Nancy E. For this reminder.
Prayer is not useless.
Prayer is THE work!
God gives His people His work to do.

Christ is your example.
Be alone with Him!
Seek Him through His Word! (Jeremiah 29:13)
Seek His leading for you.
THEN, follow in His steps!

1 Peter 2:21 “in 5 words or less” in 5 sentences.

It’s “Meditation Monday”…..
Think on these things!

CORE STRENGTHENING!

Heading out the door for Cardio Fit class. Core Strengthening so needed.

Earlier this week after that class, I went to mail a letter and lost strength as I stumbled on the curb at the post office. "Falls"---- the "bane of all seniors," according to medical warnings.
As I've recovered with my swollen ankle and my raw skinned knee, hands and elbow, I've recognized the need for increased strengthening in my spiritual core more than on my skinned flesh. The physical "stop" led to a more "fit" spiritual pursuit.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with your whole heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)
That's what happened. Disabled physically for a bit led to feeding on his word and allowing it to strengthen my spiritual core.
Spiritual fitness, fitness that strengthens your core, comes from feeding on God's word and exercising the truth gleaned from a biblical diet!

CHOOSE: TO LOOK FOR THE BABY

Afte Lucy's question, "Where is the baby?" I have been diligent to look for a manger filled with its symbolic resident. A Nativity with a capital N.
Seeking----as to physically see the babe in the manger.
This morning I found Him in the hallway at the Baptist Surgery Center......
....as well as outside on the northwest side of the entryway.

Spiritually my prayer is for all to choose to seek Him. As Jeremiah 29:13 reminds me, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with your whole heart."

CHOOSE: AN (ART) FORM OF WORSHIP

Nothing like falling in love with a piece of sculpture and having the one you love,  buy it for you. Add to that, the delivery by the sculptor herself (Heidi Walter) and you have the perfect anniversary gift.
"LEAN"---HEIDI WALTER,  Mixed Media Conceptual Sculptor
I wanted to create a contrast that illustrates people's posture in life, or on issues. People usually find what they are looking for. You can lean way in , or away. Some are eager to look and others, refuse. What are you looking for?

YOU WILL SEEK ME AND FIND ME WHEN YOU SEEK ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART. (JEREMIAH 29:13)
L

Every time I walk by it, I am drawn to it in a new way. Scripture floods my mind.
On this our 48th anniversary, I see those magnifying glasses and am grateful to share Psalm 34:3 with hubby.

MAGNIFY THE LORD WITH ME AND LET US EXALT HIS NAME FOREVER!

ORDINARY THINGS---to think about

6/21/10 Washing Dishes. Sharpening pencils---but that’s probably only ordinary for me. Folding clothes. Changing diapers. Cooking supper. Ironing. All ordinary things---though for me, ironing is somewhat extraordinary since I don’t do it often, except for my pillowcases. A few days ago I did some “getting ready for trip” ironing. It’s one of Mother’s rules. Ironed things, pack better but need a few days to hang before packing---never pack (or wear) clothes still warm from the iron. Still hearing her voice as if she were beside me, I did just that.

Standing there at the ironing board, I noticed I had some straight pins stuck in the end---just like Mother used to do. I had them there because I had just unwrapped a new shirt for Larry and they were part of the packaging. For Mother, she used them to pin her skirts to hangars---maybe they didn’t have skirt hangers in the 50s, or maybe that would have been considered a luxury by her. Mother's ironing and care of clothes was extraordinary and not because of infrequency but because she did it well. Daddy probably had creased underwear---for sure, they were ironed.

Yesterday, Pastor Cole, reminded all of us to pay attention to God in the ordinariness of life. To pay attention and be responsive to Him in the “routine.” Significance is not the standard---attentiveness to His directives is.
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
I Corinthians 10:31

Jeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” To me, that verse implies that when I seek Him with the right “heart” attitude, I will find Him even in the ordinary. My significance will come from Him, not from "great tasks" that I have initiated and just stamped His name on.
To that I say, “Hooray for the ordinary!”
