PRAYER POSITION OF THE HEART!

Prayer is more than words.
Prayer is a position of the heart!
A position with depth.
Well said, John Bunyan.
Enough said!

P.R.A.Y.

Many folks use ACTS as a reminder of great steps in our prayer life.
A doration
C onfessiom
T thanksgiving
S upplication
A reminder to worship and search your heart for sin and thanking the Lord for forgiveness before we start asking,

P raise
R epent
A sk
Y ield
This P.R.A.Y. but I appreciate the reminder to yield to God's will for His answers as we ask/ petitions.
A great way to align our will with His---so that His will be done!

This past Month my sweet friend from Ukraine shared Lectio 365, an on-line devotional, with me. Today's devotional offered this acronym, for pray.
P ause to be still
R ejoice with a psalm
A sk for God's help for self and others
Y ield to His will, come what may

Regardless of your style of praying, with or without an acronym reminder---how about a rhyming one--PRAY TODAY!

ALL......SAYS..........IT..........ALL!

All says it all. The dictionary defines "all" as an indefinite adjective. In Scripture, I see all often used as complete, definite. In English, all has several functions---as an adverb, noun or pronoun. Most often I think of "all" as completely.
"That's all she wrote." That could mean something is finished and that is all there is to be said. For me,  it could mean, if I were the "she" that tonight I'm finished typing. Nite. Nite.

It was all I could do not to get up in the night to finish this because thoughts were whirring.
As thoughts are still whirring about current circumstances, I went back to Robert Morgan's All to Jesus Day 297, whose thoughts were not whirring but were clear and concise.
With all prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and...be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:18, NASB)
All kinds of prayers---arrow prayers (Margie Hornor) "HELP, THANKS, WOW prayers, (Anne Lamott) silent prayers, spoken prayers, travel mercies prayers, walking prayers (JoLynn)
All hours of the day---morning, noon and night.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:16, KJV)
With all perseverance.....Keep on keeping on....(I Thessalonians 5:17)...for all the saints as many as possible specifically and by name. (Morgan, Day 297)
All says it all! That's all I have to say---today.

God-Speak

First and Foremost-----Know this----God speaks through His word!!!

Yet, occasionally, I can't help but see God's hand in "mysterious" instruction.
A "God-wink" of sorts, as Ann Martin says.
"Take Time for Family and Prayer. Always give Praise."
It's even quoted on their web page.
Thanks to Rucker's Candy for this sweet taste of God-Speak!

PRIORITIZING: 1, 2, 3 OR P, P, P……..

8/14/12 A friend has been praying for me about this somewhat frustrating area of my life. Keeping focus on what’s most important. Setting my priorities and matching my actions to them. So…..maybe I need to try to “do something” about it. That was my first “wrong” thought. I’ve been trying for years. Making lists. Checking twice.
I have learned to say “No” more often.
Actually, I’m no better since I retired at getting “it” all done. Grocery list is in order by areas I transverse, if transverse can be a verb. I know I try to keep from back tracking and re-crossing all those aisles. Even coupons are compiled ahead of time. Errands are listed in order of proximity to said route as well. All of this to save my time in order to have more time for the priorities in my life----and yet the planning tends to wear me out. Priorities take a back seat to the “required” or the urgencies.
Second wrong thought was my new alliterative method so I could be sure to choose the best out of all options that daily present themselves. I, at least, have come to the conclusion that I can’t do it all. I might even have to give up my crossword puzzles. OUCH!

Pick out most important areas to cover.   (Might need to give up good stuff in order to have time for the best.)
Ponder all the options.  (There are so-o-o many options mixed with the daily urgencies/requirements.)
Pitch those that don’t make the cut. (Does that mean giving up what gives me pleasure??)

This pithy list looked like the answer.

But God…..showed me that the best “P” was omitted---PRAYER!

How can I ponder anything apart from that basic????

So, I’ll “pitch” one more list/method and get back to the basic. I’ll email my friend, Betty Ferrell, and thank her for prayers, hoping she’ll keep praying and not give up on this slow “prioritizing” learner.
