GOD IS NEAR!

God is near!
How does one know God is near?.......
.........For the Bible tells Him so!

In the 60's water tag game, "Marco Polo" if Daddy is "it" he wants his children to "find" him! God is similar in our lives. He wants to be found by those who seek Him. He is always near whether they can see him or not.
Allen Bible Church, 3/8/2026. (Click link for service.)

Verse summation God is not far from any one of us.
 that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him.Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, (Acts 17:27)
Hallelujah---that preacher, the Marco Polo Dad, cometh to us today!

NEARNESS OF GOD!

Five words or less!
"I will be with you." (Joshua 1:9)
As "Coming to Light Bible Study" calls it---"5 minute Friday."

NEAR.......closeness in proximity.  Accessible in a heart to heart intimate way regardless of virtual distance.

Jordan River Rules book study folks have learned much of nearness of God this month. Even when some are absent, they have been near in Spirit. Kathie G. even shares an Isaiah verse reminder for us.
Give Cheer! God is near!

Don't veer. Stay near!

GOD IS NEAR!

Sometimes one can feel discouraged, even on Valentine's Day.....especially if your schedule includes lab work, more injections and a less than "perfect" medical prognosis. One can begin to wonder, "Is God Near?"
0f course He is. My faith tells me so.
So do not fear, for I am with you; (Isaiah 41:10a)
He Has appointed our times and and the boundaries of our habitation, that we might seek Him..... and find Him, though He is not far from from each one of us. (Acts:17: 26-27) I remember once at the beach I commented, I wish God would just show me the way----like write it in the sky. He did. Within minutes a small plane pulling a banner came by with a Jesus Cares type quote on it. Does that happen often. That specifically.....no. But it can happen.
Today at the BCC, I came without a mask, no pre check-in completed on-line and I'm sure a look of dread on my face. Then,Torrie @the desk greeted me with a big smile, a Valentine's greeting, a comment about my cane with bling and a mask. The lab work didn't even sting. My next door neighbor's friend was PA on duty who consulted with me over my "labs."
Back to the waiting room I opened up Whirly Word game on my phone to while the time away as I waited for the next phase of treatment.
New game appeared.
Do you see it? THE scrambled 6 letter word in the circle?
Called back for my "turn," I ran into neighbor Angela's mom in the infusion room.
Two least painful injections I've had of 22 so far!
God has a way of showing me "hope" in the midst of pain. Maybe pain for injections today was the same but it felt different to me.
Usually when they inject I reflect the pain wanting to reject the needle quickly....whether on the inside of my elbow for blood, or subcutaneously in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.

When nurse came to inject, i was ready. God was near.
Green light on the game gives one the "go" to complete the task.Can you see I typed the 6 letter word needed?

To you that might be pie in the sky thinking, or  just weird.

To me, it's none of that. It's God assuring me, He is always near.

CHOOSE: TO PRAY

Weary from travel, though all was fun, we decided to go ahead and drive home. It's just that we left about 4 hours later than we originally intended, even knowing rain was a possibility to the north of us. Factor in dismissal time at Fort Campbell and stress becomes an added factor. I wasn't even driving but when the possible rain turned into thunderstorms which deserved a numerical rating, if their was such, for ferociousness of such a storm, I noticed my shoulders were up around my ears and my hands were gripping the "chicken bar."
Cell service was sketchy on the rural back roads but one came through from my prayer warrior, JoLynn, ending with her addition of the praying hands, emoticon.

What an encouragement to me. I had been "shooting up" panic prayers as well but her note had me calming immediately.

I felt like I received another "God Wink" when we passed this truck as we drove out of the bad weather and got closer to HOME!!!
From the back of an 18 wheeler, I was given a BIG God Wink.
Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6)
What a reminder that the Lord was "near" in the midst of the storm, honoring my "yes" answer to  the truck's question, "Did you pray today?"

How grateful I am that I could say "yes" because I did choose to pray!

N is for Nigh

12/30/09 The Lord is as close as our “breath prayers.” He has said He will never leave us nor forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5) So why sometimes does it “feel” as if He’s distant??

A couple of days ago I wrote that I had trouble wrapping my brain around God’s love. After meditating on His love for me, I’ve decided that I can wrap my brain around it; it’s just my heart that has trouble. Sometimes it’s easier for me to figure scripture out theologically and to “spout” it than it is to move those truths a few inches southward to my heart and “feel” it as I live it out. Ever had that problem?

God is near---all the time. Billy Graham once said, one doesn’t feel the heat of the fire when one moves away from it even though the fire is still there." It’s the same in our relationship with the Lord. If we don’t feel the warmth from that relationship---guess who’s moved?

Want the warmth? Want to “feel” His presence? Get back into the Word! “But the Word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that you mayest do it.” (Deuteronomy 30:14)
Start with Psalm 73---especially verses 25-28a.
Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For, behold, those who are far from You will perish; You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to You. But as for me, the nearness of God is my good;
Extinguish your lights tonight with “Taps” knowing He is indeed nigh.

Day is done, gone the sun,
From the lake, from the hills, from the sky;
All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.

Thanks and praise, for our days,
'Neath the sun, 'neath the stars, neath the sky;
As we go, this we know, God is nigh.
