MORNING--NOON--EVENING--NIGHT!

MORNING---What a great way to begin "my" day!
6:50 am wake-up.....because it is Saturday!
Serve one another humbly in love, (Galatians 5:13)
Be ye kind one to another, (Ephesians 4:32)
Set your minds on things above. (Colossians 3:2)
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Today my day will also start soon after with some of BB's yummy blueberry lemon poundcake with a candle in the middle.Hmmm! YUMMY! I could lick off the glaze after I blow out "my" candle!
Calls. Cards. Texts. Emails, Gifts.
Noontime lunch w/ hubby @ small place with outside patio and yummy spaghetti! (my fave) followed by more of BB's cake!! I did "share" a bit!
Some call it supper, others say dinner! I call it dessert on the porch with cake!!! I shared a bit with hubby and with grandson, Owen. He knew what was in store. After all she is "his" BB!
Nighttime. Lights out.....so no-one sees me taking a last serving of "my" cake!
Sunrise to sunset it was a glorious September 13!

"W" = WISE WORTHY WORDS!

My emotions are a mess! From hyper-sensitivity, jumble & a library, in my grief to total numbness, I'm an emotional assemblage that defies reason.
W (s) flood my mental library. Whines need to turn to Worship. Wrap Weeping in Hope. More worship than worry needed! Worry is waste. Wise words come from His Word!

This morning I awakened remembering my disconcerting medical news.

May medical diagnosis not fuel fears. I know the Great physician and my times are in His hands.
Whether he takes me sooner rather than later, I need His transendent "peace to guard my heart and mind." (Philippians 4:6-7)
Wise & Worthy Words! Amen!!

RED FLAG DAYS!

All of us seem to have Red Flag Days in our lives!....often without warning!
At least, at some beaches warnings are given so prep is a possibility.

This morning ours were strong currents and rip tides. The wind warnings were listed on weather bulletins. Those were experienced immediately as one walked into a recalcitrant wind tunnel. Turbulence in the weather category! Think stormy hat dislodging, uncontrolable blast.

Sometimes life comes at us fast and furious and totally out of our control
How grateful believers are to know the One who is in control---our sovereign God.
God who can still the storms.(Mark 4:39)
Even when the tumultuous times continue, approaching a 2 red flag day, one can lean into Him and His guidance as He supports the faithful in their struggles as they seek the things above with Him. (Colossians 3:2)

SANCTURY BY THE SEA!

For the beauty of the earth, for the glories of the skies for the love which from our birth over and around us lies.
Refrain:Christ our Lord, to you we raise this, our hymn of grateful praise.

THREE R's for a NEW YEAR!

REFOCUS! REFUEL!! REFRESH!!!
  1. Refocus your mind.
  2. Refuel your heart.
  3. Refresh others.
Do all three. Use scripture to chart your course!
  1. Set your mind. Reset as needed to clear your mind of earthly matters. (Colossians 3:2)
  2. Open God's Word and chew on it 'til your heart can delightfully digest it. (Jeremiah 15:16)
  3. Refresh others. You'll also be refreshed. (Proverbs 11:25)
Refocusing. refueling and refreshing = Renewal of one's Spirit.
Renewal results in transformation. (Romans 12:2)

Being transformed by a renewal of the mind, refuels one's soul and enables one to refresh others.
What an honor for any gal to incorporate the 3 Rs in her new year and be recognized as a Philemon saint...."The hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you...." (Philemon 1:2)

Saturday Snippets (#3) of Simplicity

5/18/13 Simplicity, is hard to describe as it will vary for each individual. There are countless ways of expressing a "simple life." The manifestation will be an overflow of one's relationship with the Lord----not a series of "DOs and DON'Ts."
Therefore set your mind on things above...(Colossians 3:2) and this "kingdom thinking" (Matthew 6:33)   will add all the rest unto you----including spiritual guidance to what your simplicity should look like!

A.D.D.

3/29/11 Acutely Distracted Dotsy. That’s me! That’s where I am in my life. If you don’t believe me just take a gander at my sermon notes. Where is the outline form that defines my notes? The CAPS for emphasis? The THOTS? The color insertions? Where are all the characteristics that make my notes identifiable? These current notes, with scribbles here there and yon, are muddled---just like my mind. Will it get better? I’m not so sure.
I, who once preferred people arriving at my parties in alphabetical order because it was easier to check them off the guest list, haven’t the wherewithal to plan a party or even think about generating a guest list. A list is the absolute easiest form of note taking. How do I keep going? How do I focus?

In so many areas (other than notetaking), I seemed to have dug a hole and I just keep digging, unable to get out ----creating a fog of dirt and dust in my eyes. I want out of this earthly hole of “unavoidable” circumstances, which I have made larger by my own “unfocused” digging. When I cry, it just muddies my focus even more.

Maybe a better question is, Where are my eyes focused? Will my mind follow since my mind is the “the eyes of my understanding?”

Scripture tells me that the Lord’s eyes are on me? The LORD pays attention to (literally, the eyes of the LORD are toward) the godly and hears their cry for help” (Psalm 34:15). Shouldn’t my eyes be upon Him? "……fixing our eyes on Jesus," (Hebrews 12:2a)

Help me Lord to return to Always Dancing Dotsy.

His answer is simple. It’s all about a “set” focus, Dotsy. His focus/plan set for me. "Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth." (Colossians 3:2)
