BEND YOUR KNEES TO BEND GOD'S EAR!

Help me, Lord!
I can no longer bend my knees. But...I can call out to you, my father
Thank you for your Word! (Psalm 86:1-7)
  1. Turn your ear to me, O Yahweh because I am oppressed and needy.
  2. Protect me because I am faithful to you. Save your servant who trusts you. You are my Elohim
  3. Have pity on me, O Adonay* because I call out to you all day long.
  4. Give me joy O Adonay, because I lift my soul to you.
  5. You, O Adonay, are good and forgiving, full of mercy toward everyone who calls out to you.
  6. Open your ears to my prayer, O Yahweh. Pay attention when I plead for mercy.
  7. When I am in trouble, I call out to you because you answer me.

Help me, Lord!

*The only difference between 'Adonai' and 'Adonoy' is a kind of regional accent. Those are the same exact words, no difference.

MUSING ON BENDING GOD'S EAR

"Bending God's Ear in Times of Trouble" *was Allen Bible Church's sermon yesterday!
Pastor, Buddy Liles, assured the Texas congregation and those of us listening via livestream, that King David's, Psalm 86 "pressure cooker prayer," can give believers a vocab to express our trust even as we are troubled.
From our lips to God's ear. Whether he bends down to listen to my cry for help, (MSG) or inclines His ear as it says in Psalm 116:1, I know that when My anxious thoughts multiply within me, it's His consolations that delight my soul." (Psalm 94:19) Sounds like comfort to me.

How thankful I am that because of his goodness, God is eager to bend his ear to hear our cries for mercy and offer comfort. Whenever I'm in trouble (or distress,) I pray, knowing you will listen. (Psalm 86:7, CEV)
As we pour out our hearts to him in times of suffering we can trust Him to be our refuge.(Psalm 62:8).....an ever present help.
