CORE STRENGTHENING!

Heading out the door for Cardio Fit class. Core Strengthening so needed.

Earlier this week after that class, I went to mail a letter and lost strength as I stumbled on the curb at the post office. "Falls"---- the "bane of all seniors," according to medical warnings.
As I've recovered with my swollen ankle and my raw skinned knee, hands and elbow, I've recognized the need for increased strengthening in my spiritual core more than on my skinned flesh. The physical "stop" led to a more "fit" spiritual pursuit.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with your whole heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)
That's what happened. Disabled physically for a bit led to feeding on his word and allowing it to strengthen my spiritual core.
Spiritual fitness, fitness that strengthens your core, comes from feeding on God's word and exercising the truth gleaned from a biblical diet!

HOPE!!

HOPE IS REALLY ALL WE HAVE FOR A BETTER TOMORROWS!
With wars and rumors of war there are few "hopetimists."
Nothing else. No hope............is guaranteed except for Jesus Followers.
In February, Sunday School teacher Dr. Rad Andrews taught these wonderful, hopeful truths through the book of Revelation. .....
  • God's dwelling place is now among His people and He will dwell with them.
  • They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.
  • He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
  • There will no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order has passed away.
  • I'm making every thing new.
These "trustworthy and true words" in Revelation 21:3-5 give "hope" to God's children.

DAFFODIL'S DANCE.....

Daffodil's are dancing......even in the rain.
It must be spring in Tennessee!
God's word says, "Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come..." (Song of Songs 1:11)
According to Wordsworth some flowers seem to dance. "....daffodils flutter and dance in the breeze....toss their heads in a sprightly dance...
....and then my heart with pleasures fill and dances with the daffodils!"

National Napping Day!

National Napping Day! Who knew!!
My college friends would think I did since I was such a napper. They were also convinced that my tombstone would be marked with, "She's only down for a quick nap!"
Educator friends thought scheduled naptime was the reason I taught kindergarten for so many years.
Google says this about Nap Day, "It's always the day after the date we "spring: forward"--- the return of Daylight Saving Time.

How grateful I am the "Lord gives to His beloved, even in his/her sleep." (Psalm 127:2)
I know today is not National Napping Day but I've decided to celebrate ahead of time in case I miss it.

Yes....I'm still looking forward to this year's designated National nap Day, March 14, 2022.

REFLECTIONS FROM A HYACINTH

In many cultures hyacinths are seen as harbingers of spring and rebirth.
At my house, not so much. The fragrance gives hubby a headache. Their limited life at my hands showed that I was not a horticulturist. Yet, as beautiful as they were the first day I received the gift, it wasn't long before they seemed to droop, lose their color and reflect my sinking spirit....tho trying not to grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:3)
Ever seen a dropping plant that seems to represent your day?
Words from Hebrews 12:12 described me well---I need to strengthen my drooping (ESV) limp (Berean) listless (NET) feeble (NIV) tired (NLT) weak (NASB) hands and shaking (CEV) trembling (GNT) knees.
The New Living Translation reminds me to "get a grip"... for tired hands and strength for weak knees. I need firmness in my resolve. Not from self but from Him!
The drooping hyacinth seemed to reflect these physical and emotional maladies. May the Lord level the path of my feet as I desire to walk in the path He has for me whether I understand it or not.....so that I might not be disabled for ministry but able to glorify Him as I pursue peace with all people that many may see the Lord rather than me and my complaints.(Hebrews 12-13 -14)

Look closely at the hyacinth. Do you see it? On the right side.
Rebirth springing forth.
May that be reflected in my life today....as I seek to walk in a manner worth of the gospel, regardless of my circumstances! (Colossians 1:10)

SUNFLOWERS FOR SOLIDARITY!

Across Eastern Europe and the United States, sunflowers are front and center as the countries unite to support Ukraine.
A show of solidarity! We will plant them as soon as we can. My horticulturist neighbor suggests waiting until late spring when soil is 70-85º--so I wait.
Until then I send these соняшники pix along with many prayers for my Ukrainian friends.
Sonyashnyky of peace.....peace in the midst of chaos! (1 Peter 5:6-7)

"GOSPEL-ICIOUS" --WORD PLAY AT ITS BEST

3 yr. old grandson Jack has a language of his own. We call it "Jackanese." When he's out-grown it, we'll probably still remember it. A current word---Chok-it 'uhlicious! No verb needed!
For me, God's word is 'uhlicious!
"Thy Words were found and I ate them and they became for me the joy and delight of my heart! "(Jeremiah 15:16)
"Taste and see that the Lord is good." (Psalm 34:8)
His words are sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.....(Proverbs 16:24) when we consume them.
In one word delicious!
What part of speech is delicious?
noun
adjective
adverb
All of the aove.
A descriptive adjective. Deliciously as an adverb. Deliciousness---a noun that says it all.
What about gospelicious?

For God so love the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16 gives meaning to that one word!

GOSPELICIOUS! (Cole Huffman, according to my marginalia)
