NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER 2026

National Day of Prayer!

1 Chronicles 16 suggested by First Evangelical Church
with my "snippets of praise and petition" for today, (emphasis mine)

Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
    make known his deeds among the peoples!
Sing to him, sing praises to him;
    tell of all his wondrous works!
10 Glory in his holy name;
    let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!
11 Seek the Lord and his strength;
    seek his presence continually!
12 Remember the wondrous works that he has done,
    his miracles and the judgments he uttered,

23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth!
    Tell of his salvation from day to day.
24 Declare his glory among the nations,
    his marvelous works among all the peoples!
25 For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
    and he is to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,
    but the Lord made the heavens.
27 Splendor and majesty are before him;
    strength and joy are in his place.

28 Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
    ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!
29 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
    bring an offering and come before him!
Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness;
30     tremble before him, all the earth;
    yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.
31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice,
    and let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!
34 Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    for his steadfast love endures forever!

Intentional Worship teaches that God's Presence constantly calls for thanksgiving, and praise. Let's do it together today!

May we all be prompted to "Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All generations."

A perfect "prayer theme" for 2026.

GOD'S GLORY!

The glory of our God is our good......

especially  when together with family both earthly and spiritually!
Monday prayers begin each week with my "M" family and friends.
For God's glory and their good!

Whatever we do, apart or together, may we do all to the glory of God!
(1 Corinthians 10:31)

MAGNIFY THE LORD!

"Oh magnify the LORD with me and let us exalt His name together." (Psalm 34:3)
How does one magnify the LORD?
It helps NOT to magnify one's problems.
Think less grumpiness and more gratitude. Think trust!

We can pour out our complaints before Him as David did in Psalm 142:2 knowing that we can leave the outcomes, good and bad, at His feet for HIs glory and our good.
Thank you LORD for dealing bountifully with us. (v.7)

Turn to God's Word daily to magnify the Lord!

ANSWERED PRAYER!

No prayer is too small or insignificant to be heard and answered by God.
Some are answered immediately.
Sometimes we must wait.
Others are not quite the answer we had sought.

There's an answered prayer here. Look closely!*
It's only significant to me. Hubby knew so he searched. He found it yesterday. It was after I accepted the loss. Acceptance. Then Gad answered  It was like a "trust" lesson.

Call unto me and I will answer thee and shew thee great and might things which thou knowest not. (Jeremiah 33:3, KJV)

When our prayers align with God's will (Thy will be done.) and purpose He always answers for our good and His glory.

*Look carefully in the top right rectangle & it's in the lower left corner of that rectangle.

Stories of Hope

Cancer Survivors luncheon! What a privilege!
A celebration of life. A celebration of hope.
Many in attendance would say, "In Christ alone, my hope is found."
Dear, sweet, friend Pam is one of those. She delivered today's "keynote" message flawlessly and from the heart. Her story of hope in the midst of a shocking journey was one all could relate to in some way, especially the cancer survivors!
There's such a fellowship of folks on the same side of the struggle---and the fellowship of those who wear the pink ribbon is unbelievably strong!
Pam's message was a reminder of all of that.
Whether a surviver of more than 30 years.....or less than a year,
each wears a smile!

Pam's goal for her story of hope was for God to receive the glory! (Revelation 4:11)

Tears "rained" and hope flowed! Goal accomplished!

migh-TEA BIG cuppa

Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6, NIV)
Why blog?
Maybe because it will have lasting value for my grandchildren. Tweets, Instagram and even FB seem more ephemeral. Tweets evaporate almost instantly and Instagram and FB too follow into an almost black hole within a month. I want my "grands" and great grands to know of my faith---after I'm long gone. A faith that anchors my soul.

Why blog daily?
Certainly not to add more cobwebs to the "blogosphere." But God seemed to "compel me" to daily blogging this year.

Is blogging hard work?
Yes......Though it's not as hard as building a temple would have been for Zerubbabel in the above verse, it's beyond my own strength. If my blogging is not Spirit led, it is rubbish with no lasting value. Often, I wonder if the time to quit is drawing nigh, especially when I don't "feel" His power and and the writing seems "toilsome." (Ecclesiastes 2:26)

How does one know if her blogging pleases God?
The other day I asked myself the same question. And tho the "drop and plop" method is not spiritual, recently I did just that---finding 1 Corinthians 10:13 and a Harriet Beecher Stowe quote that I hope explains my purpose.
I did not write it. God wrote it. I merely did His dictation.
Stowe's writing coupled with God's word would be a "migh-TEA BIG cuppa to digest....but hopefully even my small blog is sincerely written in wholehearted service to the Lord in order to glorify Him.

"Gra-mma-TEA-cally Correct"

That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, (Romans 4:16, ESV)
Faith is a noun. But gems from today's Streams in the Desert entry (6/14) reminded me that true faith is supported and revealed by verbs.
Action verbs. Verbs expressing what can be done. Often, an outward manifestation of an inner belief.

If faith is the "subject" of one's life, then it is the "thing" that is doing the action. The one receiving the benefits of the action, is the object of said faith.
Faith...
  • ...links one to a Holy God.
  • ...clothes one with the power of Jehovah.
  • ...insures one of God's attributes.
  • ...defies the hosts of hell.
  • ...cause one to triumph over enemies.
Faith allows and encourages the communication between us and God......the prayer road between soul and heaven.
A single life of faith can reveal to someone in pursuit of God, the world's most powerful truth. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Him. (John 14:6)

Faith honors God. God honors faith. (Streams, p. 233)
A gra-mma-TEA-cally correct cuppa is a complete cuppa faith that spills over and touches many others for Christ's sake and His glory.
