We are the tellers of His story!

AGOG! A Grid of Grace makes it possible. His Grid compels us

MORE LIGHT!

The LightFM---
A gospel ministry with far reaching effects, especially during Hurricane Helene, September 26, 2024.

Exit 55 off I-40 E take the first right. After we checked in at the Billy Graham Center, we took the first right and headed up the narrow, steep curvy road to Camp Cedar Creek Welcome Pavilion.
We felt welcome!
Worth the drive1
We were treated to a friendly reception, a delish Low Country Boil served with a beautiful mountain view! After a bit of a song fest, a devotional was shared by one of the team members. Powerful stories of hope and healing.
Many "God Moments" were shared from the dark-out as Hurricane Helene hit to following up with feeding the communities and  providing shelter. One that stood out to me ------LightFM was only "off air" for 9 minutes! For many stranded in their listening area, it was the only news access they had to the outside world!

Much more than meal.....it was a celebration of all that God had done through The LightFM ministry.

AMEN TRUTH BEING TAUGHT!

"A picture can be worth a thousand words" is an idiom that suggests actually seeing an object or event is more helpful for learning than hearing descriptive language.
Think visualization over verbal.
As an "English as a second language instructor" on a short term mission trip learned, a "combo of words and pictures" can speak volumes.Amen!
Visual reminders to help one recall the gospel message. So Be It!

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16, ESV)

OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES!

Of all my blog entries through the years, this is right at the top of the list for blessing a grandmother's heart.
"Keep your heart with all vigilance for from it flow the springs of life." (Proverbs 4:23)
Think words....prayerful words from a first-grader.

Just click below to see & hear.....

......a prayer that shares a first-grader's version of John 3:16 to be heaven-bound, and thankful for dinosaurs, parents and his sibling as he hopes God has a good week.

His words greatly blessed my heart; I hope they blessed yours.

*Thx to John McCormick of reminding me "out of the mouth of babes" label..

EQUATIONS: SUPER SUNDAY SHORT!

I am NOT a numbers person. They confuse me.
But..........recently I came across an equation in my ESV Bible marginalia which I understand.
I get it!

JESUS + 0 = EVERYTHING

DO YOU GET IT?
But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ's power may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9, NIV)
Jesus plus nothing equals everything.

He's all you need! (2 Corinthians 12:9, NLV)

DECLARATIVE SIGNAGE

Declarative signage makes a declarative statement.
Lord give us all eyes to see "signs" which you have allowed to cross our paths!
I wonder if the car passing on the left of the Big M truck had eyes to see. Gospel message in a nutshell!
Each day we make choices----the narrow path where Jesus leads to discipleship and service .....or the wide path of pleasure and money which can easily lead to self-serving sin! This transport company/driver shared this truth visually. Hooray!
How about you? Do you live out gospel truth for others to see in your life?
Our lives can be "declarative signage" for all to see as we make right choices.
Hmmm......maybe that becomes an imperative!

GOSPEL MESSAGES!

Growing up in a small town, I often heard, "gospel truth" used figuratively and "nothing but the gospel truth" when used for emphasis. People weren't ashamed of the gospel. (Romans 1:16)

Some people live out the gospel.
Some people preach the gospel.
some people study the gospel.
Some people teach the gospel.
Some people wear the gospel.

Last week on WKNO I saw the Temptations (all 5) "wearing the gospel."
Check out the "I ♡ Jesus" to right of lapel.

I love the Temptations toe-tapping Motown music and that's the gospel truth! Motown music has my all time favorite dance tunes. Hubby and I always dance to "Ain't True Proud to Beg" whenever the song plays---no matter where we are.  Just ask our kids. Even my cell # ends in 1966, the year "Ain't True Proud to Beg" was released by Motown Records. So.........imagine how excited I was to see them "wearing the gospel" on national TV.

The real undeniable. absolute, infallible gospel truth is the truth found in the well known verse,
John 3:16.
In 1 John 3:16 the gospel message includes living it out.
This is how we now what love is: Christ gave his life for us. We too, then, ought to give our lives for others! (Good News Translation)
A self-sacrificing gospel message for all believers to live out is, "give" to others.

ACRONYMS

Acronyms.
You know......those abbreviations formed from the initial letters of other words and pronounced as a word.
Today's acronym is FRED. I created it as a way to save face and remind me of the positive connotation, regardless of the shape of the bottle and the assumptions of others. I don't know how the distributor, Fred Beverages, in CA came up with the name or if it has its own product acronym.
I just know that it is pocket-sized and filled with clear liquid, of the Rockland, NY alpine spring water variety.
I wasn't prepared for the glances at my "flask" as GAC patrons dubbed it.
Vodka? It left a "sour" taste in my mouth.

So....in order to turn a negative into a positive, for me, my "bottle" acronym became ....

Fellowship
Requires
Embracing
Divinity

Friends in the faith will get it. It's a positive for all who embrace the One who is the "Source of living water" and keeps us all connected by His death, burial and resurrection.

Choose Good News

"Choose Good News"---Obviously that choice negates turning on the TV for nightly news.
Actually the title would read better if it said "Choose Spreading the Good News."

I was spreading caramel on cupcakes to take to an ailing friend when I saw the Acts 4:12 citation under the ingredients. Of course, I looked it up.
Salvation is to be found through Him alone; in all the world there is no one else whom God has given who can save us. (GNT, Good News Translation)
Hooray, for the Batesville, Mississippi Caramel Factory for spreading the message of salvation, the good news of the gospel, while others are spreading caramel.

MONDAY MORSEL

5/6/13 Gospel truth. Is that just an idiom that flies around small towns in Kentucky? I certainly heard it a lot during my growing-up years. Kids said it to parents to give credence to their denials or excuses. Students would even say it to their teachers if trying to give validation to their statement.
Gospel truth. Figuratively, it's an unquestionably true statement.
There's also the truth of the good news of the gospel. (Romans 4:25)

Alistair Begg quote in 5/5/13 First Evan Bulletin said it very succinctly:
Here's the gospel in a phrase: Christ died in my place. That's the gospel.

Simple enough.
That, readers, is the gospel truth of the gospel message. Undeniable.
A morsel for your Monday meditation.

ROR = an acronym lesson

2/1/12 In our abbreviated world of texting and e-mailing, acronyms are a way of life. Financiers know that the IPO for FB will result in millions for those young upstarts of the company. NASCAR folks know exactly what those letters stand for, but I don't have a clue. Internet slang has people LOL after their puns---just don't confuse it thinking it means lots of love or you could hurt someone's feelings.

Today's My Utmost for His Highest entry dealt with the "reality of redemption"---ROR in my marginalia. Christ's suffering was a reality that offered redemption for the whole world. ROR> Phonetically did you hear the "roar"? That's the sound of angels in heaven approving and applauding someone's acceptance of the Lord's redeeming grace. AKA the Reality Of Redemption.

He redeemed us through His death on the cross. That's the gospel....condensed.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)
ROR is what keeps me AGOG---Awed by the Gospel Of God!
