CHOICE TO REJOICE!

Sometimes it's in the depth of our suffering that we can truly find the light of the One who is the light. Lately, it's been seeing the deep suffering of dear ones that has stolen my joy. Severe mercy can be difficult to witness.

SNIPPETS of joy that have come to mind..........
  • Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.
  • Surrender and trust.
  • Use fertilizer on my joyful heart, NOT round up.
  • Give up performance-based living and people pleasing.
  • After repentance comes refreshment.
  • Refresh my spirit O Lord & renew my joy as I serve others!
"There ain't nothing gonna still my joy."

Rejoice.....it's the right choice.

TEACHINGS FROM A TUBE.....

No inner tube.....tho it was looking at my most inner places.
No test tube----tho it could be considered one.
No packing tube----tho I felt packed in.
Not just any tube.....
....a closed MRI tube for a 20 - 50 minute journey that lasted 80 minutes and the sojourner was claustrophobic.

Teachings from the tube are the lessons I learned while inside said tube.
  • Solitude can be companionable----if God is in the tube with you. (Isaiah 43:1-7)
  • He who is "the lifter up of my head" (Psalm 3:3) can keep it flat and immobile for 80 minutes.
  • Fear is not from God....."fear not for I am with you." (Joshua 1:9)
  • Valium helps.
  • God is in control even in the midst of the JACKHAMMERING, WHIRRING, CLANKING and POP. POP. POPPING sounds.
  • When the selected MoTown music cannot be clearly heard in the tube, it helps to call to memory hymns that allow an old church choir tp ring in you head and sing in your soul.
  • When praying alphabetically thru the attributes of God, my "n" section is lacking.
  • Prayers of others can "temper" any medical procedure and fill one's heart with hope and joy.
Regardless of the results, God is still good.

CONSIDER GIVING THANKS EVEN IN HARD PLACES

This morning as I was praying for friends who suffer from chronic pain, this toe tapping song came up on my playlist.

So, my prayer for them was that hearing it would "move" them to tap their toes.
If it moves you to "tap" your toes, give thanks that you are able to do that. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Beyond that, I pray that it moves you to consider praying for other suffering souls, especially those with chronic pain.

CHOOSE: TO HEAR

Nowadays there are sounds all around. Quietness is hard to come by. Background noise is even available for purchase.
With this music I might listen to the melody but not enough to hear what words are being said.
Yet, in the hymns of old, as well as the praise music of today, the lyrics are worth "hearing.
Click link Old Church Choir to listen to a "new to me" praise song.
SOL (Sing Out Loud) as you read the lyrics to ensure hearing.
Old Church Choir
There's revival, and it's spreading
Like a wildfire in my heart
Sunday morning, Hallelujah
And it's lasting all week long
Can you hear it?
Can you feel it?
It's the rhythm of a gospel song
Oh, once you choose it, you can't lose it
There ain't nothing, there ain't nothing gonna steal my joy
I got an Old Church Choir singing in my soul
I got a sweet salvation and it's beautiful
I've got a heart overflowing 'cause I've been restored
There ain't nothing gonna steal my joy
No, there ain't nothing gonna steal my joy
When the valleys that I wander
Turn to mountains that I can climb
Oh, you are with me, never leave me
Oh, 'cause there ain't nothing, there ain't nothing gonna steal my joy
I got an Old Church Choir singing in my soul....

I'm glad I chose K-Love on my car radio this morning to "hear," because the music had me singing in my soul!

Sing and make music from your heart to the LORD (Ephesians 5:19)...............a great way to start a day!
