PERPETUAL PRAYERS!

Perpetual prayers so easily come forth for peace as we face life or pray  for others who relish such prayers as well.
Recently, alone on a damp precipitous perch while hubby and grandson, Owen. hiked near-by, I left behind all the petitions.
Praises came forth! For me, circumstances too often lead to pleas/petitions. I needed to be still and allow the Lord to touch my soul that praises might come forth from my inmost being. (Psalm 103:1)

Reflecting this morning on that time on the "cliff", a knock on the door got me out of my prayer chair. Neighbor, John, had found a letter in the grass----damp from several days of due. But God used it to bless me greatly. It was answer to one of my perpetual petitions and it prompted praise. I had been anxious for an update from her and here it was!

May praises for Him always be on my lips! (Psalm 34:1)

AUDACITY

8/28/10 Audacity…….. a word that I usually think of in a negative light, as in “bold as brass,” cheeky, “what nerve” and another word that is not exactly blog appropriate. But God…..this a.m. in one of my all time favorite My Utmost for His Highest entries allowed me to see/define audacity in a new way----a more positive light. And it was all about the appropriate boldness with which one can approach God. Audacity in prayer. Imagine that.

I am especially drawn to prayer on Saturday mornings but today I was restless and distracted by so many “looming” problems---longings, hurts, frustrations, questions, stressors. So I picked up my head then picked up “My Utmost” and was convicted that I have a choice---to nourish God’s life in me with prayer or starve that life. Not prayer as a means of getting for myself. (or maybe even for others) Prayer as a means of getting to know him. I need to come with the “splendid audacity of a child,” give God elbow room and allow prayer to change me.
Be yourself before God and present your problems, the things you know you have come to your wits' end over. As long as you are self-sufficient, you do not need to ask God for anything. (MUFHH, 8/28)
Audacious approach to asking is AAA in my thinking and triple A, in my mind, is a “rescue” logo. This morning I had the audacity to ask the Lord to rescue me from my self and to nourish His life within me.
