CHOOSE: THE CORRECT FOCUS

Need a new outlook or a fresh focus?
Sometimes we just need to look up---
Whether in a chapel........
.....in a hallway at a storytelling festival...
......or on the road.
Other times we need to look down and absorb the words.
It's crucial to choose the correct focus because our "mind feasts on what it focuses on." (?)
Such thinking can make or break one's identity so a correct focus is key.(Proverbs 23:7)

CHOOSE JOY of SIMPLICITY

Real Simple! A Magazine---found in Dr. Nutcracker's offfice, no less.
Who are they kidding!
Just finding time to sit down and read this "deceitfully" titled periodical is a joke.
Not only that, the article I was seeking, "Sleep Better" was no where to be found.
Not in the Table of Contents. Not in subscripts. Not with a "thumb through"
That, like the title, is false advertising in my book."
Nothing in my life seems REAL SIMPLE.  I tend to make the simple difficult!
Real simple/Simple assembly required----weren't those deceiving phrases on the package directions of every late Christmas Eve project we (mainly hubby) tried to construct for Santa's delivery!
The KISS acronym has been around, (Keep it Simple Stupid) for years, yet complexity seems to be the word of the day in my life.

Simplify is the "mantra" of the social domain of our western world, but who can do it "easily" ?

These days everyone seems to espouse the philosophy of simplicity whether it's one's decorator, photographer or "Nutcracker" MD.

Word to self----
Theologically only one "simple" thing is needed---"...the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:3) Such simplicity and purity will take care of everything else.
Don't be overwhelmed by complex ideas from every realm of our culture----just simply trust Him.

Complexity overwhelms--kills ideas. Simplicity gives birth to ideas---His ideas/truths which give birth to JOY! The simple joy of knowing Him!

"traveloci-TEA"

Choose for yourselves this day.....(Joshua 24:15, NIV)
At our house you can tell where we've chosen to travel by hubby's collection of mugs in our kitchen cabinet. Mugs that mostly bring good memories. What you can't see are our places we've chosen to travel in our minds. Things that too often we lug mentally.
Oh the places we go, even in our minds----or as Dr. Seuss writes, Oh the Places You'll Go. (1990)
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...”
So....today when you pour your morning cuppa, remember that daily we "choose whom we will serve" and even as Dr. Seuss says, "Today is your day"----your day to choose.
Maine, Summer of 2013
A trip chosen to be with family & to celebrate the 90th birthday of Ashley Bryan.
Both were times of rejoicing!
"Traveloci-TEA" Might make it easier and cheaper but it's only a company. Travelocity takes you only where you choose to go. It can arrange for you to go to faraway places but the luggage you lug there is all yours. So.....remember, "This is the day the Lord hath made" so...."rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)
That's what you need to pack up for your all your trips. Even those you take only in your mind.
