TRUST = MY ONE WORD 2026!
My One Word has been a yearly focus for me since friend Angie G. gave Lisa D., Margie H., and me the book in 2017!
The same word---a daily focus as well as a yearly one!
Verses may vary but the word won't!
A daily THRUST!
A Thrust of TRUST!
It (love).......always trusts,....(1 Corinthians 13:7)

TRUE TRUST!
Sometimes few words can say the most!
Last year, the few words we were given for our first NC License plate were different from our request.
The couple in front of us asked for and received the last one.
When we renewed our tags, this year.....Voilà! Requested tags were available!
IN GOD WE TRUST.*
Those words say it all for hubby and me.
As he was changing our tags we noticed additional words---also with relevance!
`To Be Rather Than to Seem'
No facades needed in the life of a believer! Be who God created you to be... rather than seem to be someone you are not!
* IN God We Trust....national motto of the United States officially adopted by Congress on July 39, 1956

The Quest
1/30/13 Most of us
are on a quest of some kind.
Recently, I’ve been on a physical quest. I’ve been in pursuit of healing coupled with answers to all kinds of medical questions. In this endeavor, I have discovered that such a pursuit needs to be intentional. Not only is the right equipment required, but it is also crucial to have a guide, close at hand, to help execute the exercises correctly. The PT knows what’s best for each individual. He’s read the text. He understands the best way for me to attain my intended purpose. He knows why I am there!

As I’m studying to
teach Ecclesiastes, I am clearly seeing that my spiritual pursuit needs to
handled in much the same way as my physical one. No plop and drop method with
my Bible---- hoping for the right verse to jump out----but an intentional study
of God’s Word. Along with the Bible there’s other material to equip me and to
help me better understand the teaching therein. Great strengthening comes from
my daily exercise of being in His word. But it is also crucial that I am guided
in this pursuit by the One who understands the text. Therefore, I pray for
guidance from the One who fully understands the words because that One inspired
the text.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; (2 Timothy 3:16)
My quest, in both instances, is to
lean not to my own understanding (Proverbs 3:5) but to trust the ones who truly know to guide
me in my pursuits.

"Lean on Me"
9/12/11 Son Buddy would often sit at our piano and play (by ear) songs that we requested. Elnora always asked for "Lean on Me." Then she'd lean over and whisper, "I want him to play that at my funeral one day." It's not a spiritual song but often as Buddy's audience of one, she felt like it was just for her.
Today's (9/12) Streams in the Desert's entry speaks of a leaning side. Those sides of weakness when we especially need to trust the Lord "to extend His mighty arm" and steady us on our leaning (weak) side.
My leaning side is often in my understanding of how to discern His will/path for me in the "dailies" without "self" getting in the way. So....I need to be reminded to "lean" on HIm and not on self.
"Lean on me, when you're not strong, and I'll be your friend, I'll help you carry on."We all need someone to lean on at certain times in our lives.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)Verse 6 follows with the affirmation that if I do this, He will direct my paths. He does the hard part, I just have to "lean."
