OVERFLOW OF THE HEART!

HEART- FULNESS is necessary for overflow.
What about a weary heart? Is your heart filled to capacity with fatigue?
Be careful! Our words give proof of what is filling our heart. Our heart controls our  tongue.
Conviction! My fatigue infested heart spews complaints of my maladies way too often lately!
Today's devotional from Experiencing God 6/13 begins with "But what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart"....(Matthew 15:18)
In my first read through I marked 10 hearts. Heart focus! You think!

May I look to you Lord. You are the heart and heartbeat of the gospel.
Use me, O Lord,  even in my weariness, to speak your words to "encourage and edify others" today! (Experiencing God, p.165)

MY CUP OF TEA

MY CUP OF TEA. A great idiom first used in Britain, of course. It's a an expression that typically presents a figurative, non-literal meaning.  If "My cup of tea" is representative of a negative it is preceded by not. As a positive "my cup of tea is indicative of one's preference, penchant, or propensity,

Of course when "not" precedes my cup of tea with a negative connotation, not my cup of tea seems a gentler way of expressing one's preference without the use of harsh or critical words.

MY CUPPA TEA---synonyms = affinity, choice/taste, druthers, orientation or preference,
Even if something might not be your cup of tea, as a personal opinion , one can strive for unity over  any differences which are not areas of biblical perspicuity. Political parties. Pandemic protocol. Vaxx. Those are all negotiable.
  • A gentle word turns away wrath but a harsh word stirs up anger. (Proverbs. 15:1)
  • Gentle words bring life and health.(not volume of one's voice or snide comments, DAL). perverseness breaks the spirit. (Proverbs. 15:4)
  • Gracious (kind) words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.  (Proverbs. 16:24, NIV)
Get together for a cuppa tea and discuss your differing cups of tea....or just agree to disagree in love.

Thought Provoking

7/1/13 Thought provoking---that's what words are. Only man has the language of words. Words used in conversation must be delivered carefully. Even more care must be taken with the written word. Written words can take on a life of their own as we have seen recently in the news of exposed tweets and leaked emails.
Words, spoken or written, have tremendous power. Words are not the problem---the problem comes from the one who speaks them or the one holds the pen that writes or the keyboard that types them.
Words can slander, shame, destroy and shatter. But God .....shows us that Words can also edify, comfort, and give hope.
When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise. (Proverbs10:19)
Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit. (Proverbs 15:4, NLT)
Words can bring death or life! (Proverbs 18:21) My marginalia--"Talk too much and you will end up eating everything you say."
Words wield power.
Mama Davenport's Bible. I have never known anyone more godly than my grandmother, Mama. This soft spoken woman had  a vast vocabulary that only included words of kindness and encouragement. His Word greatly influenced her words.
Today on Meditation Monday, use God's Word to provoke thoughts about the implications of word choices.
