IN HIS HAND!
Everything is so out of my hands as we "move" toward moving. As the International Order of King's Daughters and Sons sign off, "In His Hands", that's the way I'm signing on this morning!

CHOOSE: LIGHT
Friend and BSF teacher, Sally J., chooses to put on the armor of God everyday!
She uses Ephesians 6:13-18 as her head-to-toe guide: helmet of salvation (guard the mind); breastplate of righteousness (cover and protect the heart); belt of truth (buckled at the waist w/ God's truth) and feet shod with the gospel of peace. She then takes up the shield of faith (to ward off attacks) and the sword of the Spirit (word of God) as she steps out to begin the day. What a great beginning!
I had never considered "light" as part of armor unit until reading Jesus Always (2/21)
Metaphorically, light is a necessary covering to "put on." Believers receive the light at salvation. Yet, sometimes in our lives we forget to clothe ourselves with His light. The light which dispels darkness.
Darkness is prevalent in our world. It can blind us or at least dim our vision so that we no longer see clearly. How easy it is to fall into the "worldliness" that surrounds us. His light is our protection from said world. (John 17:17)
God is light, in Him there is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:7)
Come, O house of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the Lord. (Isaiah 2:5)
I choose the One who is Life and gives light.
I choose the "Light of the World" as my armor of defense for today. (John 8:12)

Gift From the Heart
12 day reminder from a friend---literally bound in Scripture.
Called to be light and salt by the One "who is Light" and Love. Thanks to my dear friend for that "lovely" reminder---all 12 of them.

MORE LIGHT
12/24/13 On the day Pastor Cole was preaching about the"life who is the light of all men," (John 1:4) I read the 12/22 entry by Dr. Sue Edwards in the DTS 2013 Christmas devotional, "In the Fulness of Time."Her reference to Simeon's revelation gave "light" to the fulfillment of God's promise to him. Simeon, a devout and righteous man saw Jesus in the temple and knew that this Child, brought for dedication by his parents, was the Messiah.
Praising God, with Jesus in his arms, Simeon prophesied ......a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people, Israel. (Luke 2:32)

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. (Isaiah 9:2)
May the "Light of the World" shine through believers this season, in order that many will come to the light.
More "light" for more people---what a Christmas that would be!

DRAWN TO THE LIGHT
7/19/13 Drawn to the light." For me, that phrase encapsulates my essence in both the physical and the spiritual realm.
I like light streaming in through my windows, so I open the shutters. I choose doors with glass instead of solid doors. I pull blinds and shades all the way up.
I have loved the openness of our neighborhood for the past 36 years---mostly fenceless. Kids were not hemmed in and ball fields & mini golf cart routes could stretch through four backyards,
But in the past three months, fences have gone up. Confinement---no longer our open space
Now, hubby is closing in our carport. I understand his decision. Safety. Since our break-in we have both felt "uneasy," to say the least. But as I've watched the walls go up, I've lost the light and view from my kitchen sink. It seems to have taken the breath right out of me.
How grateful I am for a hubby who wants to protect me and provide an extra measure of security. But, how sad I am to lose my light. It's as if the burglars robbed me of more than my possessions.
But God......reminds me of the only true security I have. The One who is the Light. A Light that can never be taken from me. For that, I am eternally grateful.

Searchin’ & Seekin’….
5/12/12 ….answers
to questions? On my “saturating Saturday”, several questions came to mind. Am I
seeking “light”? Better yet, am I truly seeking the One who is the Light? Do I
bend toward Him in such a way that others know that I’m seeking light---just
like the tree in Ben’s park bends to seek the light? Am I “inclined” toward Him
today? Does His light shine forth in my life?
Do others Christians search for answers as they,
too, seek the light?
