LAMB OF GOD!

Fellowship of the EWES!

Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world uses His lambs to minister in the world to other followers of Jesus. It's called fellowship!

Fellowship Friday is a great time to reflect on fellowship with Christ and others in His family in praise and prayer!

FELLOWSHIP FRIDAY!

Fellowship is defined as friendly association especially with people who gather to share one's interest.
Art Lovers Gather.
Book Lovers Gather.
Sometimes the two coincide @ Germantown Library with chess lovers added to the mix.
Runners Gather.
Jesus Followers Gather.
Christian fellowship denotes participative sharing and mutual encouragement towards Christ. They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (Acts 2:42)

COLLECTIVE NOUNS INTRIGUE!

At a recent fish-fry with friends at the Tackers, my on-going intrigue with collective nouns surfaced.

Sometimes a topic of discussion can take its own turn as that night I shared a term I had read in a detective story. Pam's phone helped jog my memory when I could only come up with the first letter.
M-- for a group of crows.
A "murder" of crows.

Today I saw said group of raucous crows at GAC---so large they could fit right in with Poe's ravens.
That sighting had me pondering other collective nouns as my thoughts returned to that time with Lynn, Connie and Pam.

What is an all encompassing noun for believers in fellowship? (Acts 2:24)
Is their a collective noun for faith folks?
Bevy of Believers.
Calm of Christians.
Choir of Christians.
Congregation of Worshippers.
Folks of faith.
Grace-forged friends = fellowship.* (1 John 1:7)

How about, "All the Above?"

IN HIS NAME!

Sometimes a day off from distractions, a fast of sorts, is helpful in seeking direction.

One of the results was a tweak and a sharing!

Fellowship---think "glue of God" for believers.

Many of us have lots of friends. Often among friendships there are boundaries or commonalities. Caregiver companions. College chums.

Work friends. Work-out buddies. Or today---a true commonality.

A common cause of service to others out of love to our Lord Jesus Christ!

I am a companion

of all who fear you,

of those who keep your precepts. (Psalm 119:63)

Fellowship. Believers together regardless of the time or place. At the Home or Regions Bank.

Sharing and caring are the manifestations of such a fellowship; it's life sharing!

“Exercising with one another.” Not at just at a gym or on a walk. Fellowship, is essential for growth, from physical to spiritual!

Fellowship, sharing time in God's word laced with prayer enabling us physically coming alongside others in their struggles of life ---Our folks. Being there is an important earthly exercise with an eternal result. (Acts 2:42, 44)

So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.  (Romans 14:19) Mutual Upbuilding sounds like fellowship to me! Fellowship without grumbling.

You. Me! We!! Thee!!!---the BEST UNITY!

Fellowship is fun! Fellowship is more than fun!

Fellowship is the blending of thoughtswords and actions as we live together in the Truth we know! The One who is the TRUTH.

Fellowship is a solidarity of like-minded, yet uniquely gifted, believers as we align our hearts with God the Father through Jesus His Son and His Spirit within each of us.

REMEMBER>>>A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.(Proverbs 29:7)

FELLOWSHIP = FRIENDSHIP PLUS! A step above all the rest

Fellowship of believers bound through the blood of Christ.

relationship where heart speaks to heart!

May our God and Father Himself and our Lord Jesus Christ…make your love increase and overflow for each other (fellowship) & for everyone else whom you serve. (1Thessalonians 3:11-12) To lend a hand

Today may we magnify the LORD & exalt His Name forever! (Psalms 34:3)

To God be the glory in our KDS FELLOWSHIP. Amen!

IMPORTANT EXERCISE

Exercise is important!
Exercise can be difficult to incorporate into one's daily schedule.
Exercise with another can be an encouragement.
Exercising with another, aka fellowship, is essential for growth, from physical to spiritual!
Fellowship, sharing time in God's word laced with prayer and physically coming alongside others in their struggles of life is an important earthly exercise with an eternal result. (Acts 2:42, 44)

commUNITY

Community is a word that has been bantered around a lot in 2020.
For believers, the fellowship of believers takes community up a notch. A commUNITY of devotion. (Acts 2:42) Fellowship enjoyed by "walking in the light" together. (1 John 1:7)
Abundant love shared because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19) Such love within commUNITY pleases God and blesses those of us together on the same side of our struggles. (Hebrews 13:16)
May our commUNITY continue to thrive in 2021!

*A big thanks to all in "my" commUNITY who prayed for my older brother today. He had a heart attack and his quick arrival at the hospital was life-saving. He had 2 stents put in and will probably be in the hospital for a week, because surgeon said he is "not quite out of the woods, yet,"

WINSLOW'S WARRIORS!

What is a warrior? Warriors in the faith come along side each other to encourage and build one another up. (1 Thessalonians 5:11) Maybe being a warrior entails pushing that wheelchair so that she can sit outside the "facility" for the first time since July 2.
Warriors are there day and night, either physically or spiritually or sometimes both.
Warriors are the watchmen, appointed by God, to pray day and night and to take no rest for themselves & continually cry out to God until God makes wherever his people minister a praise in the earth (Isaiah 62:6-7), ie a place of sanctuary, a happy place, of sorts.
With dear high school, Winslow, the call to be her warrior has brought us all together again on her behalf.
Since we love one another as God has loved us (John 13:34), and are called to prayer, fellowship & breaking bread together, even if it was benedictine on a cracker,  (Acts 1:14 & Acts 2:42).  There was "light" from the fellowship (1 John 1:7), & speaking aloud in psalms & hymns, making melody with with our heart unto the Lord, in oneness inside room 111.

From ICU to rehab to the hospital and back again there has been a cadre of folks, armed with "Winslow Will Win" purple bracelets ready to pitch in on her behalf!!! Note Dotsy's right wrist.

Now you know what a warrior is in the deepest sense of the words. Among believers, it's the ones who stand on your side---lift you when your down, kneel in prayer when you can't, and some times "bust you out" of a "facility" so that you can see the outside world again and even do a little shopping!!!
What a thrill to end the day encircling her chair, holding hands and praising the Lord who had "strengthened (Winslow's) weak hands" and answered prayers from "His Word which help the tottering to stand and to have strengthened her feeble (left) knee." Job 4:4)

CHOOSE: CHURCH FELLOWSHIP

On a recent morning "cousin" walk on Cedarwood in Nashville, I came across a bird church.
For some reason that woodland anomaly of sorts, spoke volumes.
A quiet place. A gathering spot for the flock. A place for feeding.  A place under the cross as if they to are atune to the one who feeds the birds of the air. (Matthew 6:25)
A bird church---not unlike my own church or the church at the end of Cedarwood.
A place for God’s flock, although we’re more like stubborn sheep at times, to gather. That Monday, the Cedarwood congregation came to view the eclipse together and even invited us to join.
God’s church. A place to go and be fed. Often times it’s a place of quiet prayer. Other times, especially Wednesday nights and “fellowship Sundays,” it’s a place of “chowing down” for physical sustenance.
On Sundays, church is a place for spiritual sustenance as we come together to “feast” on God’s word and be nourished by it, just as the early church did.
Continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching  (their words came straight from God Himself) and to fellowship to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (Acts 2:42)
For me, church is the wise choice. It nourishes me spiritually and relationally with both God and man. I know “some” folks don’t feel that way. God’s word in Hebrews 10:24-25, says, “….not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.”
I don’t want to be one of the “some” because I not only want to encourage others but I am so  blessed by the encouragement I receive as well.

I am grateful for the little bird church in the woods which reminded me to choose church!
