CHOOSE: SATURDAY AND TEACAKES

Saturday and Tea Cakes---a story in photos which blesses my heart.

Pictures can speak louder than the words this book loving, tea drinking grandmother could have even attempted to write when her only granddaughter set up this party for her friends.

"Irresis-TEA-ble"

Thou hast put gladness in my heart...(Psalm 4:7, NIV)
Tea anytime of day is irresistible to a "hot tea" aficionado.
Tea served right after "tubby time" by a grandaughter is the Best or as the New Living Translation states, "You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.
Separation from far-off grands has me re-living memories of those irresis-TEA-ble times through photographs.
Praises----as I was having my morning cuppa at brother Bobby's, a text arrived with a pic of Lucy, already at a Brooklyn playground. My plain cuppa became irresis-TEA-ble as it was sweetened with a "digital shot" just minutes old.

"par-TEA"

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, (Ephesians 4:32, NKJV)

Many outlandish thoughts can can come to mind when someone says, "Let's party!"
But, friend Mimi told me of a simple invitation she had last week from a dear friend and neighbor.
"Can you stop by for a cup of tea around 2:00?"
An invitation of kindness.

When Mimi arrived, she was served "party fare" in the sunroom, replete with candlelight, and yummy sweets and savories, accompanied by delightful tea. The perfect setting for a time of sharing both self and food over steaming cuppas.
The pleasantry and conversation lasted for over two hours.
Friends......content to sit and chat----not outlandish or raucous but a par-TEA all the same.

A party of the genteel variety.

"Tea for Two"

Do to others as you would like them to do to you. (Luke 6:31, NLT)
Lucy and Alice have been "friends" since birth. Now at age two they are beginning to "explore" the ends and outs of friendship, namely sharing. What an adventure to watch these two exert independence while learning to practice the "Golden Rule" from the Bible. Sharing is a difficult concept. For a toddler it usually means, she has it and I want it---"she won't share."

These two have already gotten a handle on it---beyond their age, I think. They even watch out for one another and sometimes their conversations are similar to listening in on a conversation between "little old ladies."
"Lucy could you hold my hand, while I rock and then it will be your turn."
Okay Alice, now it's my turn. You hold my hand now."
Even while serving each other tea, they were polite (for awhile) and poured each others cuppa---even putting their napkin in their lap.

Ah-h-h the joy of sharing tea with a friend at such a young age. "Tea for Two" who are not quite 2 ½.

PERFECT ARRIVAL

10/11/13 A perfect arrival, in terms of air travel, is early! It was still almost 10 pm Brooklyn time but Lucy was awake and even entertaining, between yawns. Plus. she was up bright and early today and ready for a "tea party."
Thanks Delta Airlines for an early arrival and thank you Lord for keeping those predicted thunderstorms at bay.
A cuppa for Lucy----
A cuppa for Owen
"TEA for TWO"....more tea, Owen? Yes, please.
