ROAD TO NOWHERE?....ROAD TO SOMEWHERE?

Have you ever wondered where a road would take you?
An unending highway of sorts. A road to nowhere.
Is there such?
According to a road sign in Bryson City, North Carolina there is!*
What about biblically?

There is a road that the wise travel and a road that the unwise travel. There is a road that SEEMS right (Proverbs 14:12) and there is a road that IS right (Proverbs 12:28).
As we stand at crossroads seeking directions for life, often bystanders are luring us to turn toward popularity and self-pleasure. That is a road to nowhere. A life apart from God.

Reconsider.
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, "This us the way; walk in it." (Isaiah 30:21)

Choose the way of the Lord -- the narrow path. Jesus is there and He is the way that leads to Heaven.

Is there a right path to choose?
Yes! A road to somewhere! Eternal life with the Triune God.

*I saw it as I was having a "walkabout Wednesday" down Everett Street in North Carolina last week.(6/14/23)

A ROYAL CONSIDERATION

Most folks, especially female anglophiles, love a wedding. So....the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from America had a "hands across the ocean" effect. A true media event! Which, in a post-ceremony CNN interview, the Archbishop of Canterbury said, "This wedding just blew up the chapel of St. George's chapel with the "good news" of Jesus Christ!"

However, there were elements to "consider" for all who are "children of the one true  King." Considerations to hold prayerfully in their hearts. The "royals" all arrived at the Galilee Porch entrance to Windsor castle. (An entry which sounds both biblical and southern to me----as Cana in Galilee, where the Lord Jesus celebrated a wedding turning water into wine and "porch," a entry of many southern homes.)
The opening prayer was offered to a God of love through Jesus Christ our Lord. To that, I and many others, said AMEN!
With my cuppa English Breakfast tea, I enjoyed the music---from classical with cello and "Stand by ME" to the hymn "Guide Thee O My Great Redeemer, "God Save the Queen," gospel "Amen" and "This Little Light of Mine."
Old Testament reading from Song of Solomon and New Testament, 1 John 4:16, along with references to the triune God, as rings were exchanged, immediately got my attention. Then both "The Blessing," the Anthem from Numbers 6:24-26, the Lord's Prayer, recited by all in attendance, and aired to millions warmed my heart and evoked prayers. Mya all listening, whether at Windsor with the bride and groom, or anywhere the wedding was broadcast, have "ears to hear."
BTW, just before the vows, my ears heard "Be Thou My Vision" tune which I, and my friend, Pat Y., have heard a lot lately because of its special meaning to her. But...it was not on the program. So.... I did research and found the Irish melody (Slane an old Irish folk tune) for "The Lord of all Hopefulness,"which was on the program, was indeed the same melody!
Congrats to Harry & Meghan, aka Duke of Sussex and HRH Duchess of Sussex
In consideration of the significance of today's royal wedding, a USA /UK alliance of sorts, consider praying for all the royals.

*For the complete program, w/ one error as Meghan's father did not walk her down the aisle but Harry's Father, Prince Charles was her escort," click here.

DANCE OF GOD

10/6/11 "Dance of God," the final chapter in Timothy Keller's book, The REASON for GOD: Belief in an Age of Skepticism, caught my eye for a very obvious reason----Dance. Having begun my "dance with the Lord" in new ways with my '09 cancer diagnosis, I was drawn to read what a scholar had to say about what has been "my" way of experiencing trust and intimacy with the Almighty God as He leads me in "our" dance---the one chosen just for me.

Keller sums up God's dance in several steps. Step one included understanding God's own personal dance, "The Divine Dance" as he explains the doctrine of the Trinity. Starting with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit glorifying one another, he stresses that such a "divine dance creates a dynamic, pulsating dance of joy and love." Perichoresis is the Greek word for this (think choreography) "meaning literally to dance or flow around." (Keller, p. 215)

Whereas self-centeredness is static and demands that others orbit around us, the inner life of the triune God is utterly different as it is characterized by self-giving love. (Keller, p. 214) The first few pages had so much food for THOT, I'm still digesting it.

But God....has me realizing that the "dance" starts and ends with God and when I join Him in the dance, He can teach me to delight and serve others and center on their desires and interests. I know that I'll have to stay in the "closed" dance position with Him in order for Him to have complete access to my ear so that He can continue to teach me these truths.
