FOND FAREWELLS!

Bye, Bye, Beach!
Bye, Bye, "BIG WATER," as the older cousins first called it!
Whether by jet to NY, truck to NC or SUV to TX---all arrived safe and sound to sleep in their own homes.
"NIte, I love you." as our family always says!

FAMILY TIES!

Family Ties!
What ties a family together? Special memories. Snafus, Nicknames.
Recently, hubby's nickname had me photographing a license plate of a said nickname. The owner of the car hollered from across the parking lot, "WHAT do you think you are doing?"
My response, "Is this your car?"
His, "It most certainly is!"
So....I tried to explain the family tie. His face softened and he gave me carte blanche permission. He could because He owned the company that bore those initials. PHEW!!!
Our Family Tie story!
Caller ID identifies callers on everyone's cell phones. Scam might appear if caller is not in your contacts.
So...we put all our grands in our contacts list. That way when one calls my hubby, he always knows to answer repeating the letters P P INC. Im sure they are smiling on the other end knowing it's PopPop who is answering the call. Following PPINC, he sometimes adds, "How can I help you." The conversation easily leads into laughter /giggles and ways he can help!
I was thankful for the gentleman's response on Thankful Thursday as I shared with grands.

Finest "Family Ties" might not make sense to others! (Psalm 133:1)

GOOD BEGINNINGS IN LITERATURE!

WORLD BOOK DAY is just 4 days away. April 23; How will you celebrate?
Read aloud to a child!
Parents and grandparents can often jumpstart a love for reading just by reading aloud as well as providing age appropriate books.
Is the written word important even when child cannot say or read words?
Of course it is!

It stirs the joy of reading in his or her heart!

Children are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3) and will need direction from God's word to guide them throughout life.
Bible stories; literature of truth that is a good beginning of knowing, "Jesus Loves the Little Children" and "Jesus Loves Me!"

Jesus Loves Me ,
This I Know,
For the Bible Tells Me So.
Little Ones to Him belong,
They are Weak but He is Strong!
Yes, Jesus Loves Me. Yes, Jesus Loves Me!

BABY TURNS 42

How can it be? Our #3!
Our baby girl, after boys 1 & 2--- turned 42 today!
Pre-ultrasound days, we assumed another boy & called her Benjamin for 81/2 months.... she came early as did both her brothers!
Unplanned---but God's gift! (Psalm 127:3)
During delivery, her daddy who had taught health classes at UM, fainted and slid down the delivery room wall.
My how time has flown by......and fashion has changed.
.Birthday treats have changed as well----from numeral-shaped Rice Krispie Treats to tonight's treat, a Plain Jane birthday cake from Muddy's!!

BTW, her Molly dress was an answer to her prayer. She told me she wanted a "Molly" dress. I hadn't a clue what she meant but I suggested she ask God. Lo and behold, a few days later,  Gwen Ennis showed up at our front door with, not one but two, dresses monogrammed with her name. Quite a memorable answer to Molly's prayer!

*Post time for this entry was the exact time of her birth---9:49 pm!

PICTURE WITH A PUNCH

December 26, 2018
Wordsmith's have a passion for words. Well crafted text excites them.
They appreciate the power of words to inform and inspire. Often it's difficult to add a needed emotional punch with just words. That's where photography provides the picture that is worth a thousand words.
How does one describe two 51/2 month olds talking with "words"? Their garble and squeals have no "letters."
When the female participant in the conversation reaches for the other, how do words capture the emotions of the male participant as he's been punched in the eye, (albeit unintentionally), when he takes it very personally?
Hopefully, by the end of the day tomorrow, I will be able to reveal the identity of this little guy with words that will punch you in the stomach and tug at your heartstrings.
Tomorrow is his "Adoption Day".

"Ecs-TEA-cy"

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,...(Psalm 127:3, ESV)
A cuppa ecs-TEA-cy is sweetened during time with family, especially 7 little (& not so little) grands---

“A family is a place where principles are hammered and honed on the anvil of everyday living.”  Chuck Swindoll
Pictures on the beach feels like a lot of "hammering" and sometimes requires a little solace from one's thumb!"

SABBATH SNAPSHOTS: HANDIWORK

4/15/12 From God’s creation to God’s gifting of his people and times when He blends the two, I have seen “God's handiwork" in many ways this week.

Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, (Psalm 127:3)

God's creation in the hands of creative friend, Peggy.

Daughter's gift of creativity even extends to the culinary realm.

Measuring God's handiwork from the top of her head to the tip of her toes.
I think I'll have to take that door frame with me to the"old folks home"
