MEANDERING MONDAY!!

The actual meandering took place last week but it took awhile for me to load the video.
The sound,................... which I'm still trying to get,
.........is what calmed me on my most recent meandering!

ALLITERATION....ANAGRAMS.....VOWEL AWARENESS!

Grammarians are often caught up in hand-wringing now-a-days as correct  spelling has gone out the window. Siri is in charge of spelling. Linguists are a rare breed and often looked down upon. (Oops did I just end that thought with a preposition.

Though not a true linguist, I do have a fascination with words. As I age, I've struggled with some linguistic specifics. To aid this, I work on brevity of word phrases with linguistic clues:

ALLITERATIVE AWARENESS---
Continued confession leads to constant cleansing!
AMEN!

ANAGRAMS---same letters in different positions to make new words
The direction in life one takes, even in spelling/reading, can remind him or her....of similar truths or complete opposites. Positional purpose.

LIVE
in Christ to avoid EVIL!

The letters may be the same but the meanings are opposite when the order is different.

Keep Praying! Why?
Satan keeps preying!

Oh, the difference a vowel makes....esp. in one's spiritual life!

Pair these thoughts with Scripture and today "Think on these things" (Philippians 4:8) as you walkabout!*

*Hubby tries to get me outside each day. Daughter Molly joined us after my grammar discussion with her.......alliteratively confessing I needed to
Pitch the pouting and pick up the praises!
They took me on a "Walk-a-bout Wednesday" which made Picking up Praise an easy switch!
A flowing creek. Ice. Snow. Dried leaves and Moss.
A true masterpiece of Creator God.

COLLECTIVE NOUNS!

Friend, ljj, has introduced me to many collective nouns. She has peaked my interest for animal groups.
One of my favorites is this "sparkle" one. A "sparkle" of fireflies!
Don't we all want to "sparkle."

Another fun fact I learned from a 1985's park ranger's talk about Synchronous Fireflies, indigenous to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is they are monogamous. Of course we're talking days or weeks, not years.

But, I digress from collective nouns---so typical for an "always distracted one."

Congregation of alligators--but don't think I want to go to their church.
A shiver of sharks seems about right as I get the shivers thinking of encountering them.
Squad of squid.
Flamboyance of flamingos.

Collective nouns have become a real find---so I decided to create one of my own!

"Giggle of girls." Female "girls" in their 70s who travel together, when they remember to "show up" and often have to cross their legs when the laughter of sharing old memories begins. This "tea towel" alway brings laughter to my grands when they see it hanging by the oven. Even they know how true that can be for me!

CSB and CEB versions of Psalm 139:3, state that the Lord observes (CSB) and studies (CEB) my travels. In other words wherever we are, whether traveling or resting, He is aware of the paths we are taking. He indeed is aware. Thoroughly familiar with all our ways.

The LORD God made us all, each with a unique purpose. (Psalm 139:13) May we live it out collectively with others in the faith.

CAMPGROUND COUSINS!

Memories from Deep Creek campground week with 4 cousins... my paraphrase from Ecclesiastes...
There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity under the heavens: including telling "Star in the Middle" story

    a time to be born

and a time to die, (& bury the cicada)

a time to plant (with all the needed accoutrements)
and a time to uproot,

 ....... a time to heal,
(Uncle Josh showed PopPop exercises, Jack held the equipment & offered
to take his temperature while Goldie supervised.)

a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn (because 5 of our cousins could not join us),
and a time to dance, (even singing and dancing in the rain with Shug)
    a time to scatter stones
and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace
and a time to refrain from embracing,

    a time to search
and a time to give up,
    a time to keep
and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
    a time to be silent

 and a time to speak,
    a time to love...............
............. and a time for peace.

He has made everything beautiful in its time.

He has set eternity in the human heart;.........I know there is nothing better for people that to be happy.....

...and to do good while they live that each of them may eat (birthday cupcakes)

and drink, and find satisfaction in their toil---this is the gift of God. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-13)

SABBATH SNAPSHOTS: Family Fun, Deep Creek style

8/4/13 What makes a great family vacation? Anticipation. Making do. Outdoor activities---even sleeping outside. Hot chocolate around the morning campfire. S'mores and scary stories around the nighttime campfire. Ice Cream. A hammock. Glow in the dark games. Mining. Safety. Raining as we slept NOT during the day. Rolling with the punches. Packing up the tent on a "dry" day. It also helps when the scenery is spectacular, the temps are cool and pleasant and the kids have a blast in the "ordinary" days of "no agenda" creating their own games and adventures.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brothers to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133:1
Even the youngest (2) helps set up the tent.
Mommy braves the COLD water to "tube the creek" with her  5 yr. old
S'mores, a Nightly Treat
Hot Chocolate by the morning campfire when the it's  52° & chilly.
Taking RELAXING to new heights.....well, sort of.
Andrew's "El-wie"---our "lone" girl cousin, among 7 boys.
The "tooth fairy" found us even in Deep Creek.
Tubing all the way to the  ice cream shop.
Lunch served "tubeside" for a quick return to the creek.
Watermelon Cooled in the Creek
Treasure Hunting
Tom Branch Falls, view from a tube looking up
Glow in the dark ring toss
