WONDERS ON WALK-A-BOUT WEDNESDAY!

I forgot my phone for pix----
Blessed to have dear friend and professional photographer, Anne B. with me, so there's hope.
On the trail, a lone observer commented, "There's someone with a "real" camera." There was indeed! Hubby got her pic at Tom Branch Falls,

APOSTROPHE LINGO?

Why are many words in my vocabulary "clipped"?
I'm 'bout to leave. You goin' with me?
Maybe that's why this smooth rock beckoned me on the Deep Creek path.

Actually, it looks a bit like a worry stone. Worry stones are created by polishing gems. This gem is from the Lord who created it. It has been polished by the water that has rushed over it for no-tellin' how long.

Today, it has been used by me to focus on its beauty and smoothness by  the One who created it. I started my walk worrying about my lingo.
It seems as God has given me permission to "take that off my worry list"---as hubby reminds me many times daily.

Be anxious for nothing! (nutin') (Philippians 4:6)
Allow who you are, even your locale pronunciations, to be acceptable to yourself......and take it off your worry list.

Even rub the thumb-sized indention of your apostrophe-shaped rock to relieve stress if that helps.....and thank God.

FLANNEL FRIDAY!

So grateful for today's crisp mountain air! According to the weatherman, it has something to do with the altitude. I don't even know what the altitude is here but I certainly feel the chill in the air.
How much easier it was to head out for our walk at Deep Creek knowing flannel would be my fabric of choice until I returned home!
The walk had another plus. It's the first time I had felt like a true resident of North Carolina. We met one of our "ridge" residents on the walk. We not only knew who they were along with their names and their kids' names but conversation ensued on the trail. His brother from Florida was visiting and he was able to share much info about my hubby with him as he introduced us. As athletic conversations followed, I chatted with both his wife and their perky 3 year old. We knew both the kids' grandmothers as well.
More than just knowing folks "in passing" for both of us.
A blessing of friendship on Flannel Friday!

I must not have heard the meteorologist say we would be able to discard the flannel in the afternoon but that's where I was headed---

CLOSET COLLECTION!

Drizzly beginning to the day. Three tries to procure the right clothes for a much needed early (9am) morning walk.

Decision making is not my strong suit. Emotional struggles can be more difficult than physical. How does one dress appropriately for each new day? Regardless of the weather or emotions?
Therein lies the question!

The correct answer was a spiritual one.
"Put on" a new self. Wear the clothing of Christ---humility and love each new day.

When one seeks the things above, one's mind becomes set on things above, appropriate apparel for all days.

When I opened my closet door I had affirmation on the chest inside.

God's got this!
