MONDAY IN PSALMS, MATTHEW & 1PETER!

Today my cloudy, anxious thoughts are multiplying (Psalm 94:19) with aging, death of a friend, medical problems = one more portal and a password I'll forget, whining, political madness and all else I can't control in this worried and weary world! Fatigue reigns and I am out of strength.
Help my hopes outnumber my fears! (Psalm 43:5)
Matthew 6:25
The answer is TRUST! (1 Peter 5:7)
May I TRUST Him more and fixate less on "fixing" life's problems as I pour my morning cuppa anxie-TEA down the drain!

LEFT HANGING!

Ever been in a lurch?! A vulnerable and unsupported position.
Think……….left hanging!    Dangling!!

Even worse......hanging upside down for almost 30 minutes!

It can happen anytime. Anywhere! (Even peeing and vomiting) It doesn't have to be on a broken 10 story high pendulum ride at Oaks Park amusement park  in Oregon.

Precarious pendulum dubbed AtmosFEAR had commentators' catastrophic remarks loudly calling out, "Oh my God...." and "Jesus Christ."

I prayed for safety of the riders along with hopes that the commentator who used the personal pronoun "my" for God, truly knew Him. Who do people call out to in distressing, uncertain times? We all know the "correct" answer.
But God.....puts answers in His Word.* During stress, those might come quickly or maybe relegated to one word. "Help."

But God won't leave you hanging!

*Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” - (Isaiah 41:10)

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” - (Joshua 1:9)

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble....(Psalm 46:1)

He asks us to take our fears, worries, and anxieties to Him because He cares about us and wants good things for our lives (1 Peter 5:7).

CASTING CARES!

Casting is difficult in the rushing waters of Deep Creek according to son-in-law Corey. It can also be difficult in Colorado according to my nephew Ryan, who ties his own flies  Casting is difficult. From getting better at casting to fly-fishing is what grandson Caleb works on all the time in his fishing adventures.
I, on the other hand, had to have lessons years ago on "casting."  Celebrating in Serenbe, GA as  the "Baby" of our group turned 60, we all gave it a try. I didn't learn much but it was so fun exploring "the "high church" of fishing which fly-fishing has been labeled. (Fishing gear hard to see but we did have some. It came with an instructor.)
As we have all aged exponentially, we have learned the need for casting.
Nowadays, "casting" is the importance of letting go of "what ifs" of medical testing and the "fear of the ramifications of the latest malady" discovered. Lots of praying. Lots of fellowship on the same side of the struggle as we groan with and for one-another. Casting for a fish is nothing compared to the need to cast our anxieties and worries for each other to the only One who can bring comfort. Jesus, who cares for each of us, His children!

Lately, as the cares of our hearts are many, His consolations cheer our souls. (Psalm 94:19)
So.....I keep prayerfully "casting" for dear friends.

WORRY FREE WEEKEND!

Worry is such an emotional damper.
One worry can lead to another. Result = giant worry-web!
Cast all your anxiety, burdens,
business and worries  on God.

Give it. Leave it. Cast it. Let Him have it.Throw it. Turn it over.

No matter which nouns or verbs you use from Scripture, just do it!
Then allow Freedom Friday to lead into a Worry Free Weekend.

Enjoy!

BLESS THE LORD!

The sun comes up it's a NEW day dawning! Let me sing!
As 4 yr. old Jack says, "The sun's awake so I'm awake!"
Can you see the cross in the sky? A great reminder that God's always awake!

God who  is rich in Love land has a kind heart. Bless the LORD!

But....the real question is.............will I still be singing when the evening comes?
The answer is? He is the answer!

Bless the LORD!

CHOOSE: ALL

"All" is only 3 letters but in a grammarian world, it speaks volumes. "All" assumes 4 of the 8 parts of speech depending on its usage. That makes me think all is an all important word. (adjective) So....I'm going to give my all to get this right! (noun) If I don't lose all of my mind in the process (as pronoun, substitute for noun)
Are all of you already confused? Or am I all alone in my confusion? (adverb)
The main idea is that generally the usage of all expresses the entire quality or extent of something.
Today, I choose ALL only as complete, in its entirety.

I remember a favorite old hymn of my grandmother. "I Surrender All."
Not I surrender all except; that bit of resentment I keep well hidden, my health, my home, my children, my spouse, my savings account, etc.
No buts or exceptions with total surrender.
The hymn says "All to Him I freely give."
Reading Robert Morgan's devotional, All to Jesus,* this year, I am amazed at the power of that word throughout scripture----from God's commands to the Israelites to His comfort to all believers as the God of all grace (1 Peter 5:10) whom He invites to cast all anxiety upon Him (not some or part) because He cares.(1 Peter 5:7)
I choose this day to surrender all to Him who works all things together for my good. (Romans 8:28)

*I thank Marje Andrews, with all my heart, for giving me this gem of a book.
