PRAYER SUPPORT!

Prayer support! Where does one find that?
"At the foot of the cross," many would say!
Others sing:
"What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear, What a privilege to carry, everything to God in prayer!"

The BMH lobby sign says, "Bring your prayers to the Cross."

That's the prayer support one needs---to have a prayer friend/intercessor for our discouragement, sorrows, trials and temptations.
No specific direction given----anytime night or day......fill free to bring all prayer
requests to the cross and place them anywhere you desire!

God all meet you there.

CHOOSE: COURAGE

In the midst of the pain and suffering, choose courage. (Psalm 27:14)
Choosing courage is much easier to type than it is to experience, especially when times "feel" hopeless.
REMEMBER---Courage is not the absence of fear.
I love it when courage "trumps" fear---
-- even if it is just in a Scrabble game.
REMEMBER---Fear is our recognition of needing God during these particularly "hard" times.
Anxiety results when we try to deal with our fear without God. Times of soul wounding and buckets of tears. (Psalm 42:1-5)

REMEMBER---Salt from tears CAN provoke our deepest thirst for God. (Jeff Schulte, 9/18/16)

REMEMBER---Thirst gives us the courage to choose to turn to Him with renewed hope.

Know that I am preaching to the choir here---one with no vocal ability, who is trying to quietly choose courage.

Gracious One….

7/16/10…..who gets my attention in such tangible ways has been using Psalms this summer to do just that. This morning both Allen Bible Church and Jesus Calling referenced Psalm 42. That really gets my attention. Here some snippets of the psalm.

1As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God.
2a My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.

5 Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior

8 By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me—a prayer to the God of my life.

11 Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Because verse 5 and 11 are the same that’s where my attention will be today. I am thirsting for more of him and directing my hope toward a gracious God who is worthy of my praise---Who calls my attention to what I need for the day/moment.
