GOD'S DIRECTION!

How does one read the compass of God's direction. Study His Word. Follow His direction. All are answers I've heard from believers. Robert J. Morgan gives ideas in his Jordan River Rules book, which our group has been reading together.
Morgan sees the center of the compass as a deep conviction of God's sovereignty. All agreed knowing that the Lord is in control....not us! Morgan also espouses that the circumfrance of the compass is wholehearted willingness. In the book of Joshua we have been encouraged to meditate on Scripture day and night, standing on the promise that we can be strong and courageous, knowing "the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:8-9)
Standing on God's promise of His Presence has sustained us .
For those directionally challenged, a visual is often helpful!

N= Nearness aka his Presence (Morgan, p.53)
S= Scripture leads to divine truth (IBID, 53)
E=Entrusting every detail to the One who knows the path He has uniquely for us
W=Wise plans, a watchful heart & waiting on Him; result=His way to move forward

So grateful for believers together......who desire to follow God's directions to the path of righteousness which is found in Christ alone. (Acts 4:12)

As we seek to move forward in life may we all clearly hear His voice saying, "This is the way; walk in it." (Isaiah 30:21)

"ON HOLD"

FRUSTRATION!!
Please hold!!......Please continue to hold!!!
The phone feels glued to my ear. My shoulder aches from holding it up.
Next option---speaker phone. The "hold" continues! Phone is carried from room to room!

"Your call is very important to us." Yeah---right!!

The worst offenders are Comcast, Insurance and Government Agencies!
3 hrs on this one---just had pic taken at 2 hr point. Multiple calls occurred because so many came in while on hold. With 3 hours "holding", one can expect that.
How grateful I am that the Lord NEVER puts me on hold!
I can "call unto Him and He will answer me."  (anytime night or day)
(2 Samuel 2:24)  (Psalm 17:6) (Psalm 50:15) (Psalm 120:1) (Isaiah 58:9) (Jeremiah 33:3)

BOYS! BOYS!! BOYS!!!

11/22/13 What the world needs is more godly men. Tonight we had a house full of potential! Caleb celebrated his 8th birthday with a sleepover.
Hooray for game room floors & a good Monster U movie to bed down the troops---2 younger brothers were already asleep out of camera range.
Psalm 127:3-5  Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! (Buddy & Day have 5 boys.)

Psalm 17:6 Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, And the glory of sons is their fathers.

"Fix-it" MentaliTEA

11/19/11 "Fix-it" mentaliTEA is a cuppa that I consume far too frequently. Frankly, it wears me out. Basically others, more often than not, don't seem to fully appreciate this "helping" aspect of my personality. Lately my cuppa has been filled to capacity with my "make it all better" philosophy... spilling over and making a mess. Is this really just an ailment, a disease to please and take away pain of others?
I grieve over things I can not fix, especially for loved ones....feeling like I should be able to at least help in some way, more prayer, more $, more time.
This morning as I sipped my cuppa,* I read, "I call on You, O God for You will answer me and hear my prayer." PTL (Praise the Lord) who can take care of everyone and all situations w/o my help/interference. I just need to pray. (my marginalia) A reminder to stop "overhelping" and begin accepting and enjoying.
I need to acknowledge each situation or need without immediately jumping in to "fix-it."

(Conversation with self) Pour out that cuppa of "fix-it" tea. Brew a fresh cup of a milder, decaffienated sensitiviTEA. Stir in a little godly discernment. Step back and allow God to work.
Leave the results to God, Dotsy!

*BTW my morning cuppa (pictured) was pretty good---a St. Dalfour (France) organic darjeeling.
