APOSTROPHES----IN ACTION!

Apostrophe---an important punctuation mark with a dual purpose. Not to be confused with an acute diacritical mark.
Now that I have your attention, I'll share how blind I can be to apostrophes that are often right in front of me! Click the link and check your own eyesight.
Apostrophes' dual purpose; to indicate omission of letters as in southern speak, "go get 'em tigers" or with any contractions, "don't do that," or to show possessiveness. Singular possessive or plural possessive. In the above link @ Pop's Comfort Kitchen, singular possessive is used so you know the establishment belongs to Pop, aka Chuck, as my hubby knows him. As we entered the restaurant to partake of the comfort food offered there, my eyes were opened.
Pop might be the earthly proprietor of the restaurant but I love the symbolism. Look closely at the apostrophe.

Pop has chosen to entrust his business to the Lord---inside and out.
He belongs to Jesus and so does his business. It's obvious everywhere you turn!
The food's delicious and the service is gospelicious!
It's both Pop's business and the Lord's!

TRUE COMFORT FOOD!

Comfort Food that usually goes in my mouth is "Sweet" in nature, sometimes chocolatey in texture. But.....How quickly it fades. So fleeting.
Words of comfort in Scripture are not so. They are lasting! Satisfying!
Sweet as honeycomb......sweet to the Soul, and health to the bones! (Proverbs 16:24)
Grace-laced!

P.S. All that being said, we're headed to Pop's Comfort Food for lunch today because our larder is empty and we're too weary from travel to even shop.

SOUL FOOD

Soul Food. Not served just on Sundays in sanctuaries.  In some countries such service is against the law.
Soul food is also served throughout the week.
On delivery trucks, think18 wheelers......
Like Travis' verse, John 3:16 & Bible pic on Wilson truck he drives
On products. On billboards. A way of conveying the product advertised with shared Biblical values of the consumer.
But..........Soul food served that way is done at a risk. Risk of being offensive to those of differing beliefs.
Bible verses used in NASB, NIV, and NKJV have been copyrighted since 1985 and long passages of scripture may constitute infringement.

Serving Soul food is more than peddling religious beliefs; it's a courageous act!
True soul food is worth more than the economic "bottom line." It's trying to witness and communicate reverence to God.
"Clean up" on aisle 9 is familiar but a sack of potato chips, on said aisle, with a Bible verse on it can also get our attention if we have eyes to see. That my friends, is a gospelicious idea.
Check it out just above the bar code!
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said,"Look the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29)

Taste and see that God is good even in your neighborhood Kroger......right on aisle 9.
Pick it up and read it. Soul food for ingesting right at eye level.

Soul Food that satisfies.....
Try it....you'll like it!

DANCE RULES

DANCE---these days it doesn't look like there are rules for many dances! Certainly some are more to my taste than others.
In many cultures and in my own life, dance can bring to mind praise and rejoicing.
Even Steve Gaines, pastor at Bellevue Baptist Church, after mentioning "ain't no quiet side of heaven," (with an amended aside of proper PHD grammar) said in a "whisper",,,,,"even some Baptists might "dance a little" as they worship!"
Hallelujah! Dance accompanying praise as an expression of worship especially for those with a longing soul for Jesus!
May we give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love....sacrifice thank offerings....with songs of joy. (Psalm 107:21-22).......and maybe even a tapping in our toes!
Regardless of how one expresses their worship, here or across the globe, God is pleased as we honor Him with our praise and rejoicing. Such worship is refreshing!
But God.....delights in us as we worship.
He satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things. (Psalm 107:9, 21-22)

Fix my heart on my choreographer. He has the "rules" unique to my dance with Him.

25 Words of Rambling.....

I Sought Solitude.....
  • In search of my slowly ebbing heart
  • To unearth gentleness
  • To find my inner spring
  • To satisfy my longing soul
  • To appreciate the sacred ordinary
.......Only to find it in His word. (Psalm 107:9)
