PRAYING SCRIPTURE!

Need focus in your prayer life?!!
This distractable, ditsy gal does.
Different days of the week, my focus is on friends w/ similar attributes or their names begin with certain letters. Years ago a Bible Study group began praying for each other on different days of the week so all of us were "covered" daily. I know it sounds weird but it works for me. Other times names pop up as the Holy Spirit brings them to mind regardless of day or time. Often, I don't even know why until "after the fact."
God knows I need help and He has provided it through His very Word.

Praying scripture helps keep me focused.

PEACE NEEDED

Peace is always needed for a healthy life but it seems to be needed even more as Christmas approaches. And so I pray---peace for others!
(Picture hanging in Chatios Memorial Chapel, The Cove 2013)

Today I prayed Numbers 6:26 for a squad of others!

the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. (ESV)

For more meditating on that one verse, consider the AMP version.

The LORD lift up His countenance (face)
upon you (with divine approval,
And give you peace (a tranquil heart and life)

Peace, offered from God's Word,  feels good no matter which version you consider.

CHOOSE: TO BLESS IN ANY VERB TENSE

Choosing to bless is always a good choice---present, past or future tense.
God blesses me as I pray.
Many have blessed me with their faithful prayers.
I will bless others as I pray for them. A way of "praying it forward."
Starting the day by saying a prayer to bless others would be a worthy choice.
Scripture prayers of blessing = a great choice to start one's early morning any day of the week.
  • Lord, bless (choose name) and keep (___________)
  • Lord, make Your face to shine upon (___________).
  • Lord, be gracious to (___________).
  • Lord, turn your face toward (___________).
  • Lord, give Your peace to (___________)
  • and put Your name on (___________) as you bless him/her. (Numbers 6: 24-26, paraphrased)
Conjugate the verb bless---infinitive, participle, gerund...........
.........then choose to bless others in any form.

SABBATH SNAPSHOTS: A SMATTERING OF THE WEEK

9/22/13 Diversity --- much of the beauty of life can be found in the diversity of nature, in people and in God's Word. Such has been my week.
#4 Numbers 6:24-26. If you read 9/18/13 blog you know why this is #4. It's what I viewed as I sat getting my hair cut on Friday by sweet prayer warrior, Pam S. Plus she gave me some home-grown tomatoes.. Now that's service above and beyond.
No ruby throats seen at our kitchen window. They all seem to have migrated but according to the "lady" at Wild Birds Unlimited, we should keep our feeders out because the Rufous Hummingbird, a Western species, often winters here.
I might not sport a "green-thumb" but many in Memphis do, especially some of my neighbors.
Cool temps and shiny "hot" cars---perfect combo for a grandson's day at a Car Show to see Great Uncle Bobby's antique. Oops, I must be an antique as well---this was a car from my teen years!
