CHRISTMAS IS COMING......

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas on WRD!
Thanks to friends, neighbors  and family who are spreading the true joy!
It all started with a BIG fragrant wreath arriving in the mail from Collierville! I "puddled!"
Note purple door.....royalty.....a child of the king must live here!

A nativity built piece by piece over the years from Memphis friends.
(Luke 2:8-12)

Christmas Greetings from a sweet young family who know the true meaning of Christmas. I miss them dearly!

Even at the high school the students worked together to write, and produce a "fun" play that includes acceptance and forgiveness and made our pre-schooler use his "excited" hands a lot!
Plus, the sound and light crew guru is family!

CUPPA JOY!

A cuppa joy is a great way to start the day. The favors are different as chosen by the blend. Black Tea. Green Tea. Chai. Preferential favorite.
I prefer a rich black ASSAM. My daughter prefers a Lady Gray decaf.
My granddaughters love the experience regardless of the tea choice.
Believers all have different ways to start their days. The beverage is not the indicator of joy. Christ is. He's the Focus regardless of the circumstances!
Christ is the JOY bearer.

NATIVITY SCENES FOR ALL AGES

Nothing says Christmas at our house like nativity scenes---whether terra cotta figures, snow globes, ornaments or a wall hangings of a simple "Babe in a manger".
At First Evangelical Church beautiful nativities adorn the hallways and even at off campus functions.
This year the one that has brought me unique joy has been the cloth one in the children's area. Every time I walk by the characters seem to be in a different positions.
Once it looked like the Wise Men had been practicing their somersaults! Today the 3 Wise Men appear to be in a huddle.I'm not sure where the shepherds were or why the angel found repose on a near-by pillow. I just know I like the ideas of "little hands" finding joy there.

CHOOSE: TO LOOK FOR THE BABY

Afte Lucy's question, "Where is the baby?" I have been diligent to look for a manger filled with its symbolic resident. A Nativity with a capital N.
Seeking----as to physically see the babe in the manger.
This morning I found Him in the hallway at the Baptist Surgery Center......
....as well as outside on the northwest side of the entryway.

Spiritually my prayer is for all to choose to seek Him. As Jeremiah 29:13 reminds me, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with your whole heart."

Nativity

12/24/12 Nativity: Birth, especially the place, conditions, or circumstances of being born. Specifically for Christians it's indicative of the birth of Jesus. Bethlehem: Hebrew for house of bread, according to son Buddy's recent sermon. How appropriate the One who is the Bread of Life to have Bethlehem as His nativity---the place of His birth.
This year our gift "theme" for our grands has been centered around that all important birth. We wanted the gifts to reflect our Messiah's nativity through the forty-two generations from Abraham to Christ, (Matthew 1:1-17) born in Bethlehem.
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2: 4, 6-10)
