FAITHFUL FRIENDS!

AKA Friends in the Faith

Appreciate the counsel of a friend in the faith! I have had them both physically & emotionally pick me up when I have fallen. I have heard their voice through a text or phone call so loneliness doesn't smother me. Their counsel encourages one to continue to fight for faith.

Reciprocate in a like manner. When friends in the faith are struggling, come alongside to help them journey from hurt to hope! Maybe share a Psalm of Lament.....those psalmists'prayers in pain that help lead to deeper trust.

Friends in the Faith---a 'Kinship of Kindness" filled with grace-laced truth.

• A true friend offers sincere, sometimes painful advice for your own good, rather than empty flattery. 

PATH OF RIGHTEOUSNESS!

PATHS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS! 

Think refreshment and restoration for His glory and our good!

Righteousness is the only path we need as it aligns with His will while bringing hope to our lives and the lives of those we serve and pray for, especially on Wednesday!

A great Walkabout Wednesday of faith on a sunny day in the mountains allowing God to pause our pace and pray as we go!

RAMSHACKLED!

Ramshackle is often the adjective used to describe the condition of a house.

Today, for me it appears to be a descriptor of my body, ie unstable, rickety, crumbling and on verge of collapse.

Sound familiar? For the "age-related" ones, it can be very familiar.

What is one to do? 

For me, the answer is "look to the Psalms---A very good place to start!" 

Focus on His character traits!

• The LORD is my light.....the stronghold of my life. (Psalm 27:1)
• Taste and see the LORD is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him. (Psalm 34:8)
• The LORD teaches His paths.... when we ask. (Psalm 25:4)
• The LORD protects......Psalm 41;2) The LORD  sustains.....(Psalm 41:3)
• The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. (Psalm 103:8) 

Pray the Psalms. Let those words of truth lead your "ramshackled" heart back to Him.!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

I know our spring event was 4 days ago but i misplaced a pic from that day I wanted to share. Imagine that!

A walk at Deep Creek with hubby and NC grandson required a light jacket because of some wind gusts but it was still a walk of wonder of sorts as winter fades and spring bursts forth!

Parts of the path toward Tom Branch Falls were covered with a light purple glow of Lesser Periwinkles! (Vinca Minor) This pic was taken close up when in fact, the size of each on the flowers on the trail were approximately the same size as the nail on my thumb. Blended among the darkngreen leaves along the trail was eye-catching! 

A simple beauty from our great Creator!

Lean in to others in the "church."

PI DAY!

Today, March 14, 2026 is Pi Day. (Thanks to mathematician MS chum Carolyn Ferrell for the reminder.

As for me, I am NOT a numbers person in any way, unless I'm counting blessings! My H.S. geometry and algebra teachers could attest to that.

As a wordsmith foodie woman, I'm more interested in p-i-e! 

Think treat!

That said, I plan to celebrate with "pie" in mind. Think slices!

Slice of crispy thin cut pizza pie. 

Slice of chicken pot pie. 

Warm slice of pecan pie (Tootsie's recipe) with a dollop of ice cream.

Wednesday Of Worship!

Worship gives hope in one's heart!

A true reflection of the heart!!!

*Truth be told---I actually knelt and realized the difficulty of getting upright. Maybe next time i will kneel in my heart. Worship is what counts whether quietly or noisily.... privately or publicly---it's the position of the heart that is worthy!

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!

Practice makes perfect-----or does it?

Does practice influence your life?

Maybe a better question would be, "Are your practices worthy?" 

Heart motives need to be in a positive realm.

Coach Vince Lombardi said, "Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect."

In other words, some training is superior to mere repetition. If wrong practices are repeated, bad actions can become permanent, but not right or necessarily correct! 

Progress in wrong doing is not in any way perfect!

Does practice influence your life the right way?

How do you know?

Make your request be known unto God. Pray for discernment.

Let Him lead.

"Stand firm in the Lord." (Philippians 4:1) The only One who is perfect!

He will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus..... topping it off with His peace. (Philippians 4:7)

NATIONAL NAP DAY!

Today is National Nap Day and I'm too tired to take a nap!

How can that be!? 

For years I was the consummate napper!

These last couple of years weary prevails and sleep eludes?

Even with the Psalm 127:2 reminder, "Lord gives to His beloved, even in her sleep," I'll have to settle for being still with my eyes open.

Hopefully, His peace will come.

Thanks to a reader who shared other nappers. One has celebrated it in many states! First as a baby on a beach towel in Florida 

sand......

.....and today as a worn out West Elementary first grader creekside in his hammock at "his" Deep Creek beach.

DayLight Saving time begins tomorrow, March 8, 2026.

If our time seems to be cut short, especially sleep time, we need to make the most of the time given. 

Think listen more and talk less. Be still and know God better. 

Rely on Him & His strength; serve others well in the time given.

BLUEBIRDS AFLIGHT!

Bluebirds never leave NC but we see them only occasionally until they begin their nesting search. These cavity nesters breed from March through August. Bird loving hubby tries to aid them in that pursuit though it's been difficult since his shoulder surgery. 

Carefree birds don't grow their own food, primarily eating insects.(insectivores) Hubby makes sure there is also plenty of mealworms in our area as another fave food.He does not want to leave "his" fave birds in decline due to food or habitat loss!

Birds in the Bible symbolize God's providential care. 

When help is needed environmentally, many want to help this beautiful part of creation God has created to fly above the earth!(Genesis 1:20)

Hubby is chief among them to keep birds aflight!

WHAT A GIFT!

Dear friend, Anne B. celebrated her birthday today! I sent love and prayers from my heart---from North Carolina to Memphis, TN!

But....her fiancé, Jeff, took a picture of the red moon to send to her.

What a gift!

Anne, has always been my photographer friend and she shared this gift with me!" She sensed God put that red moon out for her birthday!

I call it a God wink." Either way, it's a perfect early in the day gift!

What a super gift??

SPRING SHOW BEGINS!

There might be 20 days, 11 hours, 17 minutes and 0 seconds left until the official first day of spring as I start this entry!

But God gave me an early peek yesterday! Think vernal

Even on this chilly mountain ridge, between BIG rocks, I had a real glimpse yesterday. My first!

I remain hopeful! Subtle but real!!

TUESDAY TRIADS!

Few pastors are as succinct as Scotty Smith! He says the most with the fewest words!

Think crisp with clarity!

A BIG thanks to Doris, one of his faithful followers, and Quad Squad member for sharing a recent Scotty NT Gospel Triad with me.

1. Who are believers? "Called, loved and kept" (Jude 1:1)
2. What are believers given? "Grace, mercy, and peace" (2 John 1:3)
3. What will last in a believers life? "Faith, hope, and love" (1 Corinthians 13:13)

How do I know this triad was for me? 

I needed it after a week's worth of being "off the grid" to focus on & care for Hubby after his serious reverse shoulder replacement surgery. 

He needs it as well. Think "right-hander" living with only left hand usage and pain.

For us, tonight's Allen Bible Church selection from the  ABC 2026 Reading Plan is 1 Corinthians 13 (A favorite Scripture of his)

Romans 12:12, a fave Bible verse for me from dear friend Dixie, is on my side of the bed to see as I get up to aid Hubby during the middle of the night! Controls to access his recliner are on the right side and unable to be reached by his left hand. One more affliction he faces. Grateful so many friends are faithful in prayer for us as Hubby heals. 

 

These triads are God's truth for all believers.

Today I see them as "God winks" for me, a needy believer who is so-so grateful!

A SMATTERING OF SNOWY WEATHER COMPLAINTS.......

 .......until we saw what our Brooklyn son and his family were experiencing. 

Think 21.1 inches by 1:39 p.m. 

CONVICTION!

I am now throwing out my snow complaints and celebrating the few hours  of large beautiful flakes that came and went. A smattering of snow might close schools in our neck of the woods (NC mountains) BUT is nothing compared to a literal smothering of SNOW in NYs neighborhoods!

Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing personally comes to my mind.

Who writes the 🎶 music 🎶 of your heart? 

Allow Father God to teach you some melodious sonnet of life, and health and peace regardless of circumstances He has allowed!. (O For A Thousand Tongues to Sing)

Allow His words in His melody (by His design) allow you to learn the tune, and not be dismayed  by the "rests" He has allowed. 

Music from the heart is 🎶Music🎶 to my ears!

DITHERING DITSY!

One might suppose that a person whose first "word of the day" for the week is "dither" would profit with that head's up.

But.....when one's spouse will be undergoing some serious surgery within a week..... All-a Dither has been my response!

 

The "indecisively" definition is  boldly true! Decision making is beyond difficult for me! So many factors. So much beyond my control!

Sounds like real life, doesn't it?

But God, in HIs love and mercy can use those factors to "up my trust factor." Trust God, not self!

Even this "Dithering Ditsy" understands the importance of placing your trust in the right place.....with the only ONE who is trustworthy!!

2nd CHANCE SUNRISE!

Somedays we all need a "do-over"!!
How grateful I am that Father God gave us His son Jesus so we could do just that.

Repent in Jesus name. Ask forgiveness and you're ready for a do-over!

Think sunrise in spirit because of rising up of God's Son.
